<br /> The Recorder offered the following re so lu ti on reducin g the City asse ssment
<br /> on the 9th Avenue paving, which was unanimously adopted: m

<br /> . WHEREAS, in the paving of 9th Avenue from the East line of Tyler Street
<br /> to the East line of Almaden Street, the Street intersection at 9th Avenue and
<br /> Tyler Street, as~:proposed, was assessed against the City of Eugene, Oregon, in
<br /> the sum of $1,044.48, on the supposition that Tyler Street through 9th Avenue
<br /> would soon be opened, and
<br /> vVHE REAS , in a proceeding recently had for the opening of Tyler Street, the
<br /> Council adopted the report of the Board of Viewers, recommending such Street be
<br /> not opened, and
<br /> WHEREAS, the cost of the paving of such intersection lying within the
<br /> regular width of the paving of 9th Avneue should have been assessed against the
<br /> property of the J. F. Files Estate and the property of Louis W. Sigman as is shown
<br /> on Page 95 of Volume 6, of the Lien Docket, which amounts have now been so assess-
<br /> ed, thus making a doulbe assessment for such stretch of pavement.
<br /> BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED: Tha t the lien assessed against the City of
<br /> Eugene in the amount of $1,044.48 agains the property described as follows:
<br /> "Beginning a t the int ersec ti on of the N or.!Jh line of
<br /> Broadway with the West line of Tyler, and running
<br /> thence East 66 feet, the no e South 66 feet, the nc e
<br /> West 66 feet, thence North 66 feet to the place of
<br /> beginning. tI

<br /> should be cancelled in the amount of $615.12, making such lien as reduced, $429.36,
<br /> and the City Recorder and City Treasurer of Eu~ene, Orecon, are hereby ~rdered anQ
<br /> di rec ted to corDec t the a moun t of such lien accordingly.
<br />I A resolution was offered authorizing the Eugene Water Board to assign to
<br /> the Trea surer of the U. S. ce rtai n Li be rty Loan Bonds for redemption September 15,
<br /> 1928 , now in their possession amounting to $73,000.00. On motion, such resolution
<br /> was unahimsouly adopted:

<br /> W"IfEREAS, the City of Eugene, acting by and through its Water Boar~,
<br /> purchased certain th,ird Liberty Loan bonds to the amount of Seventy-three Thous-
<br /> and Dolla rs ($73,000.00) , from funds belonging to the Department of Light and
<br /> Wa ter of the City af." Eugene, said bonas being bonds of the United States of
<br /> America, aJl1d c c_. ... . . -.
<br /> WHEREAS, the said Water Board, having control of said bonds, and
<br /> WHEREAS, said board desires to sell and dispose of the same for the reason
<br /> that the United States Government has called the same for redemption, and
<br /> WHEREAS, the City Water Board had requested that the Common Council of the
<br /> City of Eugene., authorize the said Water Board to sell and dispose of said
<br /> bonds at the best price obtainable. e
<br /> NOW, THEREFOBE BE IT RESOLVED by the Co~non Council of the City of Eugene
<br /> in re gular session then being, that the Water Board of the City of Eugene be,
<br /> and it is hereby authorized and em])owered to sell and dispose of the following
<br />I described bonds, to-wit: Third Liberty Bonds, 15 @ $1,000.00, Nos. 40793 - 40807
<br /> inclusi ve ; 2 @ $10,000.00, Nos. 16009 - 10, inclusive; 1 @ $5,000.00 No. 17461;
<br /> 1 @ $500.00 No. 42846; l@ $500:00 No. 112443; 12@ $1000.00, Nos. 33015 - 26, in-
