The ayes and <br />nays,were called, all present voting aye, a'bsent and not voting, Hendershott. The :;;' <br />Ordinance was declared passed and numbered 7106. . <br />rf~'4,'f., <br /> <br />, The Street Commtttee reported they believed tt was now possible to get <br />14th Avenue.opened,up for a forty-foot ri~ht-of-way between Willamette and Olive <br />Streets, wh.lch would cost the City about '40,000.-00. Such matter was discusssd <br />but no action taken. <br /> <br />The matter of now completing the opening of 18th Avenue, in addition to the <br />deed pre sen ted to the C it :( by Sidney R. .AJL len, was di scussed ,'and the City Engineer <br />was directed to bring in plans for the proposed opening of 18th Avenue between <br />Willamette Street and Oak Street to complete the entire opening of said Street. <br /> <br />Councilman Rugh spoke of the trees at 20th and Olive Streets which will <br />. have to be removed if the si dewalk is buil t in the regular manner in :flont of the <br />lots in that locality, and suggested the walk be curved near the curb line to save <br />such trees. Said matter was referred to the Street Committee withp~wer to act. <br /> <br />The Mayor appointed the following named electors as a budget Committee <br />for the 19?9 Budget: H. H., Hobbs, Charman; Loy Rowling, Wallace Wintler,"Hugh P~ <br />Ford, Roy ~. Bushong, H. C., Farley, A. R. Paris, H. W. 'White, and George Miller. <br /> <br />It was reported there,Lis to be a Cement Convention in Portland on <br />October 3rd and4th~ 1928, which the City Engineer should attend. On motion, the <br />Engineer was directed to attend such Convention, his expenses to be paid. <br /> <br />On motion, Gouncil adjourned to meet on October 8, 1928, at 7:30 o'clock <br />P.
