<br />. I. L. Darby, of Salem, Oregon, for the sum of $500.00.
<br />Horton & Tyson, far the sum of $496.00.
<br />
<br />Upon reicommendation of, the Finame Committee, a motion was made, seconded
<br />and carried, that Horton & Tyson be awarded the contract for auditing theCi ty
<br />Records of Eugene complete, for' tb-.e yeaL's 1927 and 1928, f()r the swn of $496'.00.

<br />The Fi,re & Via tel' Commit tee rep orted favorably on thE~ pe ti tion for Street
<br />lights at 2nd. Avenue and Mill Street, and on the petition j~or a Street light
<br />a t the South €ind of Syl van Street in Kin,caid Park, and al so r~eollimended that
<br />a light be ins:talled on the pole at the Northeast corner of the County Jail.
<br />Motion was mad.e, seconded, and carried to a.dopt the report..

<br />City Attorney Calkins reported to the Council that after a considerable
<br />exchange of correspondence, he had now been advised by Mr. King ,of the Southern
<br />Pacific Co. that the Company is preparing a deed conveying to the City of Eugene
<br />the 'old Street railway, right of way on C:olUJIlbia Street, 26tih Avenue, and Kincaid
<br />S tree t.

<br />approved. The .M.aYGr being in doub t as to the result of the vo te, the aye s and
<br />nays were cal.lJ3td, Councilmen voting aye, Latnb, Hendershott, Large; ,nay, Simon
<br />Reid, Monroe, and Zumwalt. The motion ~as lost. A motion w.as made, seconded,
<br />and carried that the JudiQial'Y Committee be authorized to let the 1'urnishing of
<br />the Treasurer I s Bond to some bonafide tax payer of the' Ci ty of Eugene, giving
<br />preference to the wii tel' of the present bond in c ontrovers,y, if he is found to
<br />be a tax payer of the City.
