<br />read the first time on July 8, 1929, and registered notices for protest havi ng
<br />been sent, and now no protests being received, said ordinance was read the
<br />second time, and passed its third reading by title by unanimous consent under
<br />I sus-pension of the rule and was placed on its final passage. The ayes and
<br />nays were called, all ~ouncilmen'voting aye, nay, none. The Ordinance was
<br />declared passed and numbered 7509.

<br />13th Avenue to the South'line of Kincaid Addition in the City of Lugene, Lane
<br />County, Oregon, having been read the first time on July 8, 1929, and registered
<br />notices for protest having been sent, and now no protests being received, said
<br />ordinance was read the secoIld time, and passed its third reading by title by
<br />unanimous consent unde:r suspension of the rule, and was placed on its final
<br />passage. ~he ayes and nays were called, all Councilmen voting aye, nay, none.
<br />The Urdinance was declared passed and numbered 7510.

<br />Nine sidewalk Assesffioont Ordinances, having been read the first
<br />time on July 8, 1929, and registered notices for protest having been sent,and
<br />now no protests being received, said ordinances were read the second time, and
<br />passed their third readings by title by unanimous consent under, suspension of
<br />the rule, and were placed on their final passage. The ayes and nays were
<br />calle 9-, all Councilmen voting aye, nay, none. The Ordinances were declared
<br />passed, and numbered from 7511 to 7519, both numbers inclusive.

<br />Councilman Washburne moved that the contractors for the in$tall-
<br />ation of the ornamental Street' lighting system be granted permission to remove
<br />any trees, if it should be found necessary to do so, in order to properly in-
<br />stall the lighting system on West lOth Street.
<br />
<br />Councilman Monroe suggested that all business houses should see
<br />that signs are properly lighted during the Pageant. The suggestion met with
<br />the approval of the Council.
<br />
<br />A motion was made by Counc ilman Washburne the. t the City Epgineer
<br />and Street Con@ittee be authorized to act with reference to widening tl~ East
<br />side of Charnel ton Street between Broadway and lOth Avenue. The motion was
<br />I seconded and carried.
<br />
<br />A representative of the Electric Porducts Co. expressed a desire
<br />to submit figures on the instalJation of the Claude Neon Lighting system for the
<br />airport boundary lights. The matter was referred to the Fire & Water Corrmlit tee.
