<br />27~ <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUac'il Chambers, Eugene, Ore gon, <br />January 27, 1930. <br /> <br />Minutes of the adjourned meeting of the Common Council, held at the hour <br />of 7:30 o'clock P. M. on January 27,1930, there being present all Councilmen <br />except Reid, Monroe, and Zumwalt. The meeting was called to order by Mayor <br />W.llder. <br /> <br />f"" <br />::-~ <br />"'C*l <br />~'j3~',: <br /> <br />A report from ~he City Engineer and the City Attorney recommending that the <br />assessments against certain property on Villard Street for the improvement of <br />Fairmount Bou"1evard for paving stand as now of r'e'cord, and that the request of <br />Fred E. Smith, presented to the Council on January 9th be denied, was read and <br />motion made, seconded, and carried to adopt the recomm'endation. <br /> <br />Councilman Monroe appeared in Council at this time. <br /> <br />The petition for the appointment of Julian Strait to the City Police force <br />was discussed in Council without action. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />An ordinance assessing cost of sidewalk intersection to the City of Eugehe, <br />having been read the first time on January 13th, was read the second time, and <br />passed its third reading by title by unanimous consent under suspension of the <br />rule and was placed on its final passage. The ayes and nays were called, all <br />present voting aye, nay, none, absent Reid and Zumwalt. The Ordinance was declar- <br />ed passed and numbered 7740. <br /> <br />A report of Mayor Wilder on City finances was presented and placed on file. <br /> <br />The recorder presented a resolution providing the transfer of $625.55, <br />remaining in the fund from sale of Fire Department Equipment Bonds, to the General <br />Fund, to be used ip. reducing the outstanding warrant debt, and $148.20 from the <br />Aviation Park Bond Fund to the General Fund for the reduction of Outstanding <br />Warrant Debt, and for the transfer of $1,275.00, balance from the sale of Park and <br />Ter~inal Bonds, to the Park Terminal Bond Sinking Fund, and for the transfer of th <br />balance in the Public Comfort Sta tion Fund to the Comfort Sta tion Bond Sinking <br />Fund, was read and a motion was made, seconded, and carried to adopt the resolutio , <br />and directing the Treasurer to make such transfer. Following is the Resolution: <br /> <br />". <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />It appearing that there is held by the City Treasurer the sum of $625.55 <br /> <br />Fire Department Equipment money and that the same was authorized for purchase <br />of equipment and never used ~nd has been lying in this fUnd for nine years, and <br />that the General Funds have paid in the meantime for many items in excess of this <br />amount, it is ordered that said sum be transferred by the Treasurer to the General <br />Fund and be used by him to reduce outstanding General Warrant Debt. <br />It further appearing that there is held in the Aviation Park Bond fund the <br />sum of $148.20, which has remained in said fund since 1920, and that said fund <br />was voted for the purpose of acquiring land for an aviation field and that the <br />general fund has paid out more than that sum for lands for said purpose, it is <br />ordered that said sum be t.ransferred to the General fund and that the Treasurer <br /> <br />use the same to reduce outstanding general warrants debt. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />'It further appearing that there is held in the Park and Terminal Bond fund <br />the sum of $1,275.00, and that the same has remained in said fund since Sept. <br />1925, and that the purpose for which said fund was provided has been accomplished <br />and that no further demand will be made for said fund, it is ordered the said <br />sum of $1275.00 be transferred in the Park Terminal Bond, Sinking Fund to be used <br /> <br />toward the redemption of said bonds when due. <br /> <br />It further appearing that there remains in the Public Comfort Station fund <br />the sum of $144.93, that said station was completed in 1926 and that said sum is <br /> <br />~ <br />
