H. Haviland and <br />Jerry Hoyt be each placed on the lEY roll as of March 1st, and that salaries of <br />~150.00 pel' month each be paid them, they to furnish their own cars, but gas to <br />be furnished by the City. A motion was made and seconded to adopt -the recommenda- <br />tion. The ayes and nays were called, all present voting aye, nay, none, absent <br />Large and .Monroe. <br /> <br />I,1r. l\Iahlon Sweet, representing the Chamber of Commerce Commi ttee on Aviation, <br />urged before the council the importance of early development of the airport parti- <br />cularly stressing the need for boundry lights and runways. A motion of Council- <br />man Hendershott to place the council on record as favoring the immediate installa- <br />tion of boundry lights was lost, but was not taken to indicate final determina- <br />tion of this Question but rather to reflect the desire of the council for further <br />information before commi tting itself to any defini te steps. <br /> <br />A pet i ti on fo I' the widening of the trave led p orti on of Wi llame t te S tree t <br />between 11th and 19th Avenues by setting the curb 'back foul' feet on each side <br />of the street 'vvas presented to the council by MI'.
