<br />Five sidewalk Improvement Ordinances were read the first time, and passed
<br />their second and third readings by title by unanimous consent under suspension
<br />of the rule, and was placed on their final passage. The ayes and nays were called,
<br />all counci Imen voting a~le, nay, none, ab sent Simon, Washburne, and Zumwalt. The
<br />Ordinances were declared passed and numbered from 7791 to 7795, both numbers inclu -
<br />i ve.

<br />Nine sidewalk Assessment Ordinances, having been read the first time on
<br />May 12th, 1930, and registered notices for protest having been sent, objections
<br />were called for. l'vIr. E. L. Coffin objected to the amount of assessment for con-
<br />struction of a sidewalk on the East side of Agate Street assessed aGainst property
<br />described as: Beginning at the Nort:J:1JNest corner of Lot 6, Block 2, of Cherry
<br />Grove Addition to Ragene, Lane Co., Ore., and filnning thence South 80 feet, thence
<br />East 64 feet, thence Horth 80 feet, thence West 64 feet to the place of beginning.
<br />The City Engineer went over the assessment and explained it to the Council and the motion
<br />was made and seconded that the council finds and determines that the proposed asse s-
<br />ment was legal and just, and that the objection t,hereto be denied. The motion
<br />was carried. Said ordinances were read the second time, and passed their third
<br />readings by title by unanimous consent under suspension of the rule, and were
<br />placed on their final passage. The ayes and nays were called, all councilmen vot-
<br />ing aye, nay, none, absent Simon, Washburne, and Zumvvalt. The Ordinances were
<br />:1 declared passed, and numbered from 7795 to 7803, both numbers inclusive.

<br />An Ordinance prohibiting driving across p,rivate property from one street
<br />to another, cutting the corner, and ente,ring streets from :private property, as a
<br />matter of passage, was read the first time, and passed its second and third read-
<br />ings by title by unanimous consent under suspension of the rule, and was placed
<br />on its final passage. The ayes and nays were called, all councilmen voting aye,
<br />nay, none, absent Simon, Washburne, and Zumwalt. The Ordinance was declared
<br />passed and numbered 7805.

<br />Comment on the dangerous condition of the Northwest corner of Eleventh and
<br />Pearl Streets by reason of approaches to the Firestone Station was made and it
<br />was ordered that the owners of property or tenants be required to establish proper
<br />barracades at the corner of said station at the direction of the City Engineer.
<br />
<br />On motion, the Council adjourned.
