The ayes and nays were called, all Councilmen voting aye, nay, none, <br />~ absent Monroe. The Ordinance .was declared :passed and numbered 7898. . <br />{~I , <br />An OrdiJfta.nce approving and adopting the plans and specifications of the' <br />Ci ty Engineer for the improvemen t of Indiana Avenue from the East line of Columbia <br />Street t.o the West line of Van Ness Street, by grading the same, was read the first <br />time, and passed its second 'and third readings by title by unanimous conaent under <br />suspension of t;he rule, and was placed on its final passage. The ayes and nays <br />were called, all Counci Imen vot ing aye, nay, none, a bsent Monro e. The Ordinance <br />was declared 'passed and numbered 7899. <br /> <br />Mr. Joseph Jacobs addressed the Council on the subject of paving the alley <br />between 7th and 8th from Olive to Charneiton streets and the sanitary conditions to <br />the premises acljacent to the alley. On motion the matter of sanitation was referre <br />to the- Health Gommittee. Councilmen Reid moved that the Ordinance for the paving. <br />of said alley be taken off the table. Motion was seconded, and on vote three - <br />I councilmen voted for the motion and four against it, and the motion was declared <br />10 st. <br /> <br />I Mr. Hend.er'Shott, moved that the Council instruct the City Attorney to <br />commence condemnation proceedings to aCQuire the four and one-half acres at the <br />, Northeas t corner of the avia tion field.' Illotion was seconded by Mr. Washburne, and <br />on vote declared carried. <br /> <br />The Finance Committee reported the following bills for payment and recom- <br />mended that they be paid.
