The ayes and nays were called, all Councilmen voting aye, nay, none, ~ absent Monroe. The Ordinance .was declared :passed and numbered 7898. . {~I , An OrdiJfta.nce approving and adopting the plans and specifications of the' Ci ty Engineer for the improvemen t of Indiana Avenue from the East line of Columbia Street t.o the West line of Van Ness Street, by grading the same, was read the first time, and passed its second 'and third readings by title by unanimous conaent under suspension of t;he rule, and was placed on its final passage. The ayes and nays were called, all Counci Imen vot ing aye, nay, none, a bsent Monro e. The Ordinance was declared 'passed and numbered 7899. Mr. Joseph Jacobs addressed the Council on the subject of paving the alley between 7th and 8th from Olive to Charneiton streets and the sanitary conditions to the premises acljacent to the alley. On motion the matter of sanitation was referre to the- Health Gommittee. Councilmen Reid moved that the Ordinance for the paving. of said alley be taken off the table. Motion was seconded, and on vote three - I councilmen voted for the motion and four against it, and the motion was declared 10 st. I Mr. Hend.er'Shott, moved that the Council instruct the City Attorney to commence condemnation proceedings to aCQuire the four and one-half acres at the , Northeas t corner of the avia tion field.' Illotion was seconded by Mr. Washburne, and on vote declared carried. The Finance Committee reported the following bills for payment and recom- mended that they be paid.
