The meeting was'called to <br /> order by MayoJ:" H. E. Wilder, with all councilmen present except Hendershott <br /> and Monroe. <br /> Anordlnance levy ing the annual tax for the Ci ty of Eugene, . for the fiscal <br /> year of 1931 was read the first time, and passed its second and third readings <br /> by title by unanim~us consent under suspension of the .rule, and was placed on <br /> - its final ~assage. The ayes and nays were called, all present voting aye, nay <br /> none, absent Hendershott and Monroe. The Ordinance was declared passed and . <br /> numbered 7988.. <br /> I, Chairman Lamb of the Street Committee recommended that the Council extend <br /> !I the time of A.. C. Mathews for completing his contract and bond for the improve- <br /> ment of Indiana Avenue from Agate Street to Columbia Street until Monday, <br /> December 29thl. at 5 o',clock P. M., and that if he has not then fully complied <br /> with these c~lditi6ns that the contract be awarded to the Eugene Sand and Gravel <br /> Company at thEl price bid by A. C. Mathews, and that the Mayor and Recorder be and <br /> are hereby imitructed to enter into such contract. The motion was seconded and <br /> carried. <br /> On motion Council adjourned. <br /> R.
