<br />r-- 4:8 <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />---.-- <br /> <br />Chambers Oouncil,Eugene, Oregon, <br />March 9, 1931. <br /> <br />Minutes of the ,regular monthly session of the Common Counbil, held at <br />7:30 o'clock P. M., March 9,1931. Council was called to order by E.. Large, <br />President of the Council, in the absence of Mayor Wilder, with all Councilmen <br />present except Reid and Zumwalt. <br /> <br />Minutes of the regular meeting of February 9th, 1931, and of, the adjourned <br />meeting of February 24th, 1931, were read and approved. <br /> <br />MI-. Robert M. Fischer Jr., President of the Central Labor Council, appe~r- <br />ed before the Council and reported that many laboring people were being required <br />to work seven days per week and aSked if some ordinance could be passed to <br />correct this situation. The matter was referred to the Judiciary Committee and <br />.. Ci ty Atto rney. <br /> <br />~ <br />(~;"" <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. Hugh Rosson, g.raduate Manager of the University of Oregon, asked per- <br />mission of the City to tear down the old bleachers on the Mill Race at Franklin <br />Street and install a new construction. Motion was made, seconded, and carried <br />that the request be granted under the supervision of the City Engineer, with the <br />provision that the bleachers will be removed should the purposes of the City <br />at any time require the ground space for other purposes. <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />At this time Mayor Wilder appeared in CoUncil, and President Large turnad <br />over the gavel and resumed his seat in Souncil. <br /> <br />Councilman Large, Chairman o~ the ~inance Committee, reported and recommend~ <br />ed for payment the f9110wing bills.
