<br />Motion was then made by Councilman Hendershott that all of the other
<br />appointments named by the Mayor be conf.' irmed by the Counc il, and that all of said
<br />officers and appointees be placed on the regular payroll of the Ci ty at the, salari s
<br />set opposite their names, and that the Recorder be instructed to issue warrants in
<br />payment thereof monthly without further order of the Council. Motion was seconded,
<br />and the ayes and nays were called, all councilmen present voting aye, nay, none,

<br />Mr. Geo. Brent appeared before the Council and stated that he had been
<br />advised that he had no right to use a private garage, constructed as such, at 310
<br />West 19th Stre,et fpr the purpose of a public auto repair shop. The question in-
<br />volved was one of violation of the Building Code, resulting in greatly increased
<br />insurance ra tes upon ne ighboring property caused by the occupa tion as an increased
<br />hazard. The general opinion was expressed to permit such occupation would not be
<br />legal and would lead to breaking down of the building restrictions.

<br />.At this time Councilman Reid appeared in Council.
