<br /> Minutes of the regular meeting of June 13th, 1932, and of the adjourned
<br /> meetings of June ,27th, 1932, and July 5th, 1932, were read and approved.
<br /> ,
<br /> , Mr. Oscar Hansen offered to lease a portion of Lot 27, Mathew's Park
<br /> for the purpose qf a fruit and vegetable -stand, and the matter was referred to
<br /> the Judiciary Committee and City Attorney to see if satisfactory terms can be
<br /> a..rranged. <

<br /> A delegation of farmers again appeared before the Council in reference
<br /> to the charge fon meat inspection, and 1w. Zumwalt, Chairman of the Health
<br />.. Committee, moved that the City eleminateall meat inspection fees. Moti on was
<br /> seconded and carried.

<br /> r Mr.' H. H~ Wood urged that a special franchise be extended by the Council
<br /> to some operator, in order ~o provide satisfactory bus service to the College
<br /> Crest Loop subject to its first refusal to the Oregon Motor Stages.

<br /> Councilman Zumwalt was excused from fur the rat tendance.
<br /> j
<br /> Mr. Tom Flippin and Commissioner Crowe appeared before the Council in
<br /> disGussion of th~ proposed Food Conservation program of the City of Eugene for
<br /> the coming winter, and tir. Flippin submi tted a partial plan and estimate of the
<br /> expense s. It appearing that the plan was not worked out in sufficient detail
<br /> for the Council to commit itself definitely to the program, Councilman Hen~er-
<br /> shott moved that the City employ Mr. Flippin for one month at a salary of $100.0 ,
<br /> together with costs of oil and gasoline for his c~, that he might proceed with
<br /> his further development of the plan to enable the Council to determine on more
<br /> defini te action.
<br />1 Haynes Bros. submitted to the Council a plan of the Standard Oil Company
<br /> to erect a steel 8' x 10' building 0ver, the pump uni t at the Aviation Field.
<br /> It appearing that the plan had the approval of the Hobi Airways Co., a motion
<br /> was made and seconded that the Council approve the installation, with the under-
<br /> standing that the uni t may be removed by the Oi 1 Company upon terminati on of the'r
<br /> arrangement.
<br /> ,
<br /> Chairman Hendershott of the Finance Committee recommended that the
<br /> 'following bills be allowed, and motion was made and seconded that warrants be
<br /> drawn for the same. The ayes and nays were called, all councilmen vot~ng aye,
<br /> nay, none, absent Zumwalt. "
