<br /> An Ordinance regulating the playing of card, dice or any other game whioh
<br /> shall be played in any pool room or card room or similar resort in the City of
<br /> Eugene and also regulating plaoes maintained for playing such games was read the
<br /> second and third times by title by unanimous consent of the Council and was place
<br /> on its final passage. The ayes and nays were called, all Councilmen voting aye,
<br /> nay, none, absent Zumwalt and Hendershott. The Ordinance was declared passed and
<br /> numbered 8297.
<br /> Three Sidewalk Assessment Ordinances, having been read the first time on
<br /> June 27th, 1932, and registered notices for protests having been sent, are read
<br />. the second time and objections called for and none heard, and on motion the Ord-
<br /> inance s were read the third time under 'suspension of the rule and were placed on
<br /> their final passage. The ayes and nays were called, all Councilmen voting aye,
<br /> nay, none, absent Zu~valt and Hendershott. The Ordinances were declared passed
<br /> I and numbered 8298 to 8300 inclusive.
<br /> A Sidewalk Improvement Ordinance to construct a cement sidewalk on the
<br /> East" side of Univers1ty Street between Twenty-second and Twenty-third Avenues on
<br /> the West 100 feet of Lots 11 and 12, Block Thirty-three, Gross Addition to Eugene
<br /> Lane County, Oregon, was rea~ the first time, and passed its second and third
<br /> readings by ti tle by u~animous consent under suspension of the rule, and wa s
<br /> placed on its final passage. The ayes and nays were called, all councilmen votin
<br /> aye, nay, none, absent Zumwalt and Hendershott. The Ordinance was declared passe
<br /> and numbered 8301.
<br /> An Ordinance providing for the issuance and sale of Twenty One ~housand
<br /> Five Hundred ($21,500.00) Dollars, Sewer Bonds, 1926, of the City of Eugene was
<br /> read the first time, and passed its second and third readings by ti tle by unan-
<br />I imous consent under suspension of the rule, and was placed on its final passage.

<br /> An Ordinanc'e authorizing the issuance' and sale of $30,681.53 of Improvemen
<br /> I Bonds of the Oi ty of Eugene, Oregon, and direc ting that they be adver"ti sed for
<br /> I sale, all in accordance with the provisions of Chapter XV of Title XXVII, of the
<br /> Oregon Laws, commonly l<:nown as the "Bancroft Bonding Act" was read the fi.l:.'st time
<br /> and passed its second and third readings by title by unanimous consent under sus-
<br /> pension of the rule, and was placed on its final passage. The ayes and nays were
<br /> called, all councilmen voting aye, nay, none, absent Zumwalt and Hendershott.
<br /> The Ordinance was declared passed and numbered 8303.
<br /> The Police Committee recommended that the Recorder be instructed to purcha e
<br /> ammuniciation in reasonable quantities for use of the Police Dept. in target
<br /> practice as requested by the Chief of Police. On motion, the recommendation was
<br /> adop ted.
<br />. Motion was.made, seconded, and carried that the Council adjourn to meet
<br /> at 7:30 o'clock P. M,. on July 27th, 1932.. .
