<br />. <br /> <br />~ <br />1-7:1 <br /> <br />~.- -- <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Council Chambers, Eugene, Oregon <br />January 9, 1933 <br /> <br />Minutes of the regula~ monthly session of the Common Council, held at 7:30 <br />o'clock P.M., January 9, 1933. Council was called to orde~ by Mayo~ E. Large, <br />with all Councilmen pressnt except Simon, Reid and Jones. <br /> <br />o....J. <br />-l <br /> <br />;-':'_...a. <br /> <br />Minutes of the ~egula~ meeting of December 12th, 1932, and of the 'adjourned <br />meeting of December 27th, 1932, were read and approved. <br /> <br />The Superintendent of the University Of Oregon Building and Grounds reQuested <br />that parking on University Street between 13th Avenue and the railroad track be <br />limited to the East side of this street. By motion of Councilman Lamb, the request <br />was granted, and the City Attorney directed to p~pare an ordinance to cover. <br /> <br />The Judicia~y Committee, by Chairman Edwards, recommended that the reQuest <br />to erect an Adventists' Tabernacle be granted if a site could be selected which <br />was not objectionable to the people residing in its neighborhood, and further <br />provided that the parties concerned give the City a bond in the amount of $500.00, <br />to guarantee removal of the building at the end of one year. On motion the <br />recommenda t ion was adopted. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Councilman Reid appeared in Council at this time. <br /> <br />The Finance Committee, by Chairman Hendershott, reco~nended that no bOlmS <br />should be required from the Assistant Treasurer at the present time. This <br />recommendation, was on motion, adopted. <br /> <br />Mr. Hende~shott also moved that the Recorder advertise for bids for auditing <br />the 1932 accounts. Motion seconded and carried. <br /> <br />At this time Councilman Simon appeared in Council. <br /> <br />Chairman Hendershott of the Finance Committee reported the following bills to <br />the Council with the recoIMlendation that they be allowed, and motion was made and <br />seconded that warrants be drawn for the same.
