Council was called to order by Mayor <br />:; E. Large, wi th all Councilmen present except Mr. Reid. <br />I: Mr. Jacobson asked for a reduction of the Shotting Gallery License. The <br /> matter was referred to the Judiciary Committee and City Attorney. <br /> Mrs. Gawley presented a petition of prOducers and distributors of milk for <br /> reduction of the annual license fee. The mrotter was referred to the Health <br /> Committee. <br /> I <br />j <br /> At this time Councilman Reid appeared in Council. <br /> \ <br /> ~~. Burton Palmer, Secretary of state Reconstruction Advisory Board, . <br />i discussed the general situation as to sewage disposal for cities bordering the <br />I Willamette River, and the methods of handling the plans, engtneering, and finances. <br />I <br />I The State offers to finance the cost of engineering, with the understanding that <br />I the matter will be submitted to the voters, and that the engineering charges be <br /> refunded to the State out of funds, secured from the Goverrup.ent, if the proposal is <br />,) voted favora!J,ly. Otherwise the cost of engineering to be, paid by the State. <br /> Councilman Lamb moved that the City accept the proposal as made and the motion was <br />I seconded and ca,rried. <br /> Reports of the Police ~futron ahd Library Board were placed on file. <br />I <br />II A proposal of Oren Davi~ was submitted to the Council in which Mr. Da vi s <br /> agreed to turn over hi s certificate of tax delinquency to the City, which he now <br /> holds against the eight acre tract in the name of Esther Humphrey Tschanz, and <br /> that as conside_t:'ation of the surrender of the certificate to the City, the City <br />I give him credit for the amount invested in said certificate against his own 1'1'01'- <br />II erty assessment liens. The matter was referred to the City Attorney and Judiciary <br /> Committee with power to act. I <br /> ~ Mr. D. E. Baker submitted an offer to pay the City $25.00 in settlement <br />:; of a lien balance of $36.42 against his property on West 8th Avenue near Almaden, <br />~ as his portion of the cost of sidewalk construction. This matter having been in d <br />Ii di spu te for a long time, and 1;;11'. Baker occupying the posi ti on of an innocent party, <br /> a motion was made, seconded and carried on an aye and nay vote instructing the <br />!
