Council was called to order by Mayor Large, ."-.Ji/ -,-.r with all Councilmen present except Reid and Harris. Minutes of the regular meeting of October ~th, the meeting of October 23rd, and the adjourned meeting of November 2nd, 1933, were read and approved. Attorney F. C. Heffron personally protested against the calling of a special election for the sublnission of the question of a sewage disposal plant, unless we can be certain that ail cities and towns in the valley are going to enter into the project of river purification, and he also submitted a written protest which was placed on file. .- Mr. Schaefer, a property owner at 2nd and High Streets, objected to the row of shacks along the river bank on the Eugene Sand and Gravel Company's property; claiming that the conditions were unsanitary. Mr. McKy, for the Gravel Company, stated that their position was mere~y that of a property owner attemptiIlg to give give relief to destitute people without compensation, and that they would abide by the act of the Council. This matter was referred to the Chief of Police, Building Inspector, and Health Officer with power to act. Attorney King appeared before the Council anticipating consideration of the Milk Pasteurization Ordinance, but because Councilman Harris was out of the City the ordinance was laid over for further consideration on November 27th. The Judiciary Committee recommended that the request for the reduction of the Shooting Gall'ery license- be laid on the table. On motion the recommendation was adopted. At this time Councilman Reid appeared in Council. I Chairman Hendershott of the Finance Committee reported the following bills to the Council with a recommendation that they be allowed, and motion was made, seconded and carried that warrants be drawn for same.
