<br />of Thirteenth Avenue East to the North line of Sixteenth ~veuue East, in the City
<br />of Eugene, as the same abuts upon the properties hereinafter described, and fixing a
<br />time and place for holding a meeting of the Common Council at which all protests
<br />against such reassessment shall be heard, and directing the givin@ of notices, was
<br />read the first time, and passed its second and third readings by title under sus-
<br />pension of the rule by unanimous consent of the Council and was placed upon its
<br />final passage. The ayes and nays were called, Councilmen voting aye, 8, nay, none,
<br />absent none. The Ordinance was declared passed and numbered 8379.

<br />An Ordinance authorizing the City Recorder and City Treasurer to accept Home
<br />Owners Loan Corporation Bonds in payment of assessments for Streets, Sewers and
<br />Sidewalks, was read the first time, and passed its second and third readings by
<br />title under suspension of the rule by unanimous consent of the Council and was
<br />placed upon its final passage. The ayes and nays were called, Councilmen voting
<br />aye, 8, nay, none. The Ordinance was declared passed and numbered 8381.

<br />An Ordinance for the preservation of quiet and order in the City of Eugene,
<br />and regulating the consuption of intoxicating liquors in public places, was read the
<br />first time and passed its second and third readings by title under suspension of the
<br />rule by unanimous consent of the Council and was placed upon its final passage. The
<br />ayes and nays were called, Councilmen voting aye, 8, nay, none. The Ordinance was
<br />declaBed passed and numbered 8382.

<br />Councilman Hendershott .reported that the Rifle Club were planning to in.stall
<br />a rifle range in the basement of the building at 931 Oak Street; and it appearing
<br />to the Council that care was being taken to install the same in a manner to prevent
<br />possible accidents, no objection was raised in the Council to the plans of the
<br />Rifle Club.

<br />Communication from the Cashman Realty Company in regard to an assessment on
<br />part of Lot 1, Block~, Cherry Grove Addition was referred to the Judiciary
<br />Committee and City Attorney.
<br />
<br />It was reported that the red lights at lOth and Mill streets had been
<br />removed, and on motion it was ordered that a new red light be installed at this
<br />point.

<br />Estimates for the cost of repairs to the City Hall were submitted by 1~.
<br />Mosher, Building Inspector, and on motion duly seconded and carried it was ordered
<br />that the City proceed if C.W.A. funds can be secured for this purpose.

<br />Councilman Hendershott moved the adoption of the following Resolution and
<br />the same was seconded and carried.
