<br />An Ordinance amending Section 18-C of Ordinance No. 8347, entitlE,ld "An
<br />Ordinance to be known as the Electrical Code for the City of Eugene, Oregon; pro-
<br />viding for licenses; defining approved electrical materials and appliances,
<br />prohi bi tinD the sale 01" use of unapproved appliance s and materials, providing a
<br />penalty for violation hereof, repealing Ordinance No. 8293 and all Ordinances or
<br />parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith", was read the first time and passed its
<br />second and third read~ngs by title under suspension of the rule by the unanimous
<br />consent of the Council, and was placed upon its final passage. The ayes and nays
<br />were called, Councilmen voting aye 8, nay none, absent none. The Ordinance was
<br />declared passed and numbered 8389.

<br />pontracts were submi tted providing for a payment by the Uni ted States National
<br />Bank and the First National Bank to the City of Eugene of interest on daily balances
<br />at the rate of t of 1% per annum during the period of June 9, 1933 to January 31,
<br />1934, and continuing at the same rate subse~uent to February 1, 1934 until termi-
<br />nated. I.Iotion was made, seconded and carried that the contracts be accepted and
<br />approved by the City and executed by ,the Mayor and Recorder in duplicate.

<br />Mark Hathaway, Commander of the American Legion, re~uested that the' City extend
<br />to the Legion all concessions for an indoor circus to be held June 4th to 9th
<br />inclusive, without a license fee~ The funds to go for charity and relief work.
<br />Hotion was made, seconded and carried that the re~uest be granted.

<br />A list of scheduled rates of charges for State Industrial Accident Commission
<br />for various S.E.R.A. projects was read.
<br />
<br />The re~ue st that the Ci ty :provide the co st of accident compensa ti on for the
<br />carrying on of the work of the enforcement of the N.R.A. Code was on motion laid on
<br />the table.

<br />A mo~ion was made and seconded that the City cooperate with the County in the
<br />:payment of one-half rent of the S.E.R.A. head~uarters in the Re8ister ~uilding on
<br />East Broadway, by the understanding that the City's half of the rent for the Month
<br />of liay will be ~12.50 and thereafter ~22.50 per month. The ayes and nays were
<br />called, Councilmen voting aye 8, nay none, absent none.

<br />A motion was made and seconded that the City appropriate and expend the sum
<br />of ~~285.40 to cover State Industrial Acciclent Compensation in the sum of ~185.40
<br />and supplies in the sum of ~~lOO.OO in connection with the survey of existing
<br />conditions for City J)lailning and recordinG of locations of underground service

<br />businesses, and such ord.inance S(Q) presented constituted a tentative report thereon

<br />by the Planning Commi ssion.

<br />BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED, that the tentative report and ordinance presented

<br />thereon at the office of the Cit:r Hecorder in the City Hall in Eugene, Lane County,

<br />1934, and that the City Plmlnir~ Comnission after having held said hearings, shall
