II I[ Adopted by the Common Council this 27th day of August, 1934. I I I I ----- Hayor Large spoke regarding four shacks still standing on Hr. LIcKy's property I I along the river front, which the transients had occupied last year, and which the I' Council had requested torn down earlier in the year. The Council thought it :. advisable to have these shacks torn down before they are occupied again this Fall 1 by transients, and instructed the Recorder to write to Mr. 1IcKy regarding them. I Mayor Large reported that the State Relief Committee had ruled that compen- 11 sation for the employees could not be paid out of the liquor license fees, and that the City 'vvould have to pay for this compensation, but that the Committee had I .ruled that that part of the City's rent amounting to ~22..50 pel' month for S.E.R.A. offices could be paid out of the license funds, thus relieving the city of this J charge. I The Co@nittee appointed by l~yor Large to confer with 1~. Chambers and Mr. I I Gaylord regarding condemnation proceedings on the Gaylord Building reported that II they would like further time, and the matter was left in their hands to report at I the next meeting. . i Councilman Bond reported that there were several electric signs that were not j I lighted every night. There was some discussion of the Council regarding these ,Ii' I dark signs, and the Building Inspector was instructed to take some action to have I 'I the sign Ordinance complied with.
