M. of May 16, 1935, at the Council Room in the City Hall in the City of Eugene, Lane County, Oregan. Pursuant to the above notice of special Council Meeting, Council was called to order in Special Session by Mayor Large, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P. M., Thursday, May 16,1935, with all Councilmen present except Lamb and Carlson. An Ordinance prohibiting the conduct of brokerage houses for the carry- ing on of prosperity clubs and chain letters or pools, and declaring the same to be a nuisance~ and declaring an emergency and fixing a penalty, was read the first time and passed its second and third readings by title under suspension of the rule by the unanimous consent of the Council and was placed upon its final passage. The ayes and nays were called, Councilmen voting aye 6, nay none, absent Lamb and Carlson. The Ordinance was declared IlJassed and numbered 8423. t On motion the Council adjourned. C. M.
