Mr. Gordon Wells addressed the Oouncil on the subject of cancellation of
interest on assessments against property held by Mr. Harry Gordon. He pointed,
out that at the time Mr. Gordon purchased the property the owner, Mrs. Nelson,
checked the taxes and assessments, paid.the taxes in full and was assured that
all assessments were paid. Mr. Gordon then checked and found the same condition,
and purchased the property. He now finds that he has considerable in the way of
asseEsments against the property. He is willing and ready to pay the principal
of the assessments but prays the. Oouncil for release from the interest. This
'I matter was referred to the Finance Oommittee, Oity Engineer and Oity Attorney.

i Oouncilman Lamb, Chairman of the Street Oommittee, reported that they were
notified of a very bad condition existing on Woodland Ave., which is a continuation
of 15th Avenue East. The property owners served by this avenue wished the same
widened and put in better condition. This was referred to the Street Oommittee
and Oity Engineer.

Oouncilman Bond, Ohairman of the Fire and Water Oommittee reported that they
had received figures on the cost of a fire alarm system, which would amount to
$42,800.00 for the equipment. All labor and the installation would be additional.
