<br /> An Ordinance to regulate the keeping and maintenance of animals, fowls and
<br /> - insects in the City of Eugehe; providing for a license, and repealing all
<br /> I or~inances in conflict herewith, and declaring an emergency, was read the first
<br /> time, and Mr. Smeed who has a number of bee hives addressed the Council pointing
<br /> out that the proposed ~pl.OO per hive was excessive, that the State rate was only
<br /> $.50 up to and including 10 hives, and stated that bees were not a nuisance, and ~
<br /> he felt that any time they bothered they could be moved to some other section. Mr. ~j,:{p
<br /> Barrette addressed the Council stating that bees were a nmisance and should be :"\:--]
<br /> licensed. The Ordinance was held over until the next Council meeting at which
<br /> time definite recommendations can be made as to fees.
<br /> The Recorder asked the Council to name their recommendation for a dog control .....----
<br /> officer for the City, ao they could ask the County to appoint the same. After
<br /> considerable discussion the Recorder was instructed to confer with the County
<br /> Court, and whatever the necessary steps were to take the same.
<br /> The Recorder stated that he had complaints of excessive speed over the Ferry
<br /> Street bridge, and the Recorder was requested to refer this to the County Court
<br /> '. for their disposition.
<br /> The Recorder asked for permission to advertise for bids for gasoline for the
<br /> City for 1936, and this was granted.
<br /> A letter from Mr. Wintermeier, requesting the waiving of interest on certain
<br /> improvement assessments, was read and on motion seconded and carried was not
<br /> granted.
<br /> The following applications for ~ebonding delinquent assessments were presented
<br /> and on motion duly seconded and carried were accepted:

<br /> The following Resolution on the West 50 feet of Lots 5 and 6, Block 2,
<br /> College Hill Park Addition to Eugene, was read and motion made, seconded and
<br /> carried to adopt the same.
<br /> RESOLUTION
<br /> WHEREAS, the ~est 50 feet of Lots 5 and 6, Block 2,-
<br /> College Hill Park Addition to Eugene, was segregated in
<br /> 1925 then Bancrofted and the Bancroft assessment paid in
<br /> the following year, and the property remained clear for
<br /> eight years following, and subsequently was again segre-
<br /> gated and a charge made upon it of $97.37, which, in the

<br /> . opinion of the Council, is unCOllectible,
<br /> It is therefore ordered that said assessment be and
<br /> the same is hereby directed to be cancelled, and the
<br /> Treasurer is instructed to report said property clear
<br /> upon his recor~s.
<br /> The following Resolution on the transfer of $2,228.17 was read, and motion
<br /> made, seconded and carried to adopt the same.
<br /> RESOLU'l'ION
<br /> I WHEREAS, there has been presented to the Council a
<br /> 'I statement of costs for the refunding of Improvement Bonds
<br /> during 1935, showing net losses of $2,228.17, which has
<br /> been charged to the general fund erroneously, and should
<br /> have been char,ged to the improvement Bond Sinking Fund.
<br /> . It is therefore Ordered that the ~reasurer correct
<br /> his books by placing this charge to the correct fund,
<br /> I to-wit, the Improvement Bond Sinking Fund. ~
