City Attorney Calkins stated de- " <br /> finitely he would r~port at the next meeting concerning the same. <br /> Upon motion made, seconded and carried, the Mayor was authorized to con- <br /> fer with Mr. John Fields, Deputy Recorder, to select the proper man to handle the <br /> 31 lien dockets when consolidation of offices becomes effective._ <br /> Recommendation from the Treasurer~s Office that the practice of taking -.... <br /> 32 property descriptions over the telephone and reporting the information inquired <br /> about be discontinued, was presented and upon motion made and seconded it was so <br /> I ordered., The recommendation in full appears as follows~ <br /> I "The Council believes that the practice of taking property <br /> I descriptions over the telephone and then reporting back <br /> I over the telephone the condition of the liens against <br /> these descriptions is detrimental to the best interest of <br /> the CIty and orders that this practice be discontinued. <br /> I The records of the City Liens are always open to the <br /> public and the City stands ready to help in furnishing <br /> any information that may be desired. Where it is neces- <br /> sary to in order to file deeds for record at the Court <br /> House the ~ity is willing to furnish signed statements as <br /> to the condition of the liens against any particular piece <br /> of property, but other than that parties wanting informa- <br /> tion regarding city liens will be required to get the in- <br /> formation,from the City Records. <br /> It is also ordered that where different segregations of -- <br /> liens as they now stand are wanted that the party desiring <br /> this information leave a signed statement, on blanks that <br /> will be furnished by the City. In this way there will be <br /> no misunderstanding as to the proper description for the <br /> segregation." <br /> 33 Resolution was presented providing the consolidation of the treasurer's, --.... <br /> . Engineer's and Recorder's offices as follows; and the same upon motion seconded was <br /> adopted: RESOLUTION <br /> WHEREAS, The arrangement of the city offices is not conducive <br /> to a coordination of their respective activities in such a <br /> manner as to render to the city the most efficient and economi- <br /> cal service, <br /> Therefore <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Bugene that <br /> I the Building Inspector's Office be and it is hereby ordered to <br /> carry forward to completion the proposed alteration as shown by <br /> the plans and specifications of the building inspector, in such <br /> a manner that the office of the Recorder, City Treasurer and <br /> City Engineer shall be aligned in one general office composed of <br /> . the present Recorder's office the Council Chambers and the City <br /> , <br /> .... <br />
