Perdew deeding ~ertain <br /> property to the city of Eugene, absolutely and unqualifiedly, <br /> and in consideration of the payment to the City of E~gene <br /> by the said Raymond L. Perdew of the sum of $1.00, the City <br /> of Eugene does hereby direct the City Recopder and Mayor to <br /> enter into an agreement of lease and option with the said <br /> Raymond L. Perdew with regard to <br /> Part of Lot 8 in Huddleston's Addition to <br /> Eugene, described as follows: Beginning <br /> 110 feet East of the Southwest corner of <br /> Lot 8, and running thence East 50 feet, <br /> thence North to the South line of 10th <br /> Street, thence ~est on 10th Street 50 feet, . <br /> thence south to the place of be~inning <br /> granting a lease on said premises and an option to purchase <br /> the same, until November 7, 1937, at the price set out in <br /> the contract of option, together with interest thereon from <br /> November 7, 1936, until said option is exercised, and in <br /> r case said option is not exercised before November 7, 1937, <br /> said option shall terminate and all rights of said Raymond <br /> L. N. Johnson, Health Officer, addressed to E. ~. Zumwalt, Chair <br /> Iman of the Heal th Committee, was read. It was pointed out that the city wa <br /> in no position to dictate in this matter and that it was up to the Health Officer to <br /> ~ontact the property owners Bnd point out what should be done to abate the nuisance. <br /> I If they refuse to abide by his instructions, then he is entitled to file complaints <br /> 29 against them. <br /> j Complaints against Alaska Junk and Machinery Company for using vacant lot <br /> 30 for storing junk was referred to the Chief of Police to see that it is cleaned up. '. <br /> j <br /> ~ Police Chief Eergman was also asked to make a check on those peddlers who <br /> (are using the sidewalks for displaying their wares; such practice being contrary to <br /> 31 the provis~ons of the city ordinance. <br /> , <br /> I <br /> ~I City Engineer Clubb was instructed to investi~ate an irregularity in the <br /> 321!sidewalk at 12th end Jefferson, the location being the northwest corner. <br /> I' An Ordinance providing for the segregation of assessment liens upon property, <br /> I <br /> land providing for the repeal of all ordinances and parts of Ordinances in conflict <br /> ~erewith passed to its second and third readings by title under suspension of the <br /> frule by unanimous consent of the council and was placed upon its final passage. The <br /> ayes and nays were called; councilmen voting aye six; nay, none; absent Simon and <br /> 331 Zumwalt. The ordinance was dech.:.red passed and numbered 8493. I <br /> I Councilman Lamb asked that the City Engineer prepare a detailed statement as <br /> tto the rebates due various parties residing at Franklin Boulevard for paving.
