entertainer's obligation to clean up shall occur at the end of the activity, at <br />the end of each day's activity or at least every four hours during the activity, <br />whichever is less; <br />4.1.5.2 At permittee's or street entertainer's expense, shall promptly <br />remove all of his or her personal property at the end of the activity or at the <br />end of each day's activity, whichever first occurs, unless specifically <br />authorized by the City Manager to leave the property. The permittee or <br />street entertainer shall release the City from any obligation to protect or care <br />for the personal property so left; and, <br />4.1.5.3 At permittee's or street entertainer's expense, shall return to <br />City any City equipment provided in as good a working condition as when <br />it was made available, less reasonable wear. <br />4.1.6 Each permittee shall be responsible for and pay any taxes levied or <br />assessed arising from permittee's use of the Downtown Activity Zone. <br />4.1.7 Downtown activity permits are not assignable or transferable in <br />whole or in part. <br />4.1.8 To preserve the aesthetic value of the Downtown Activity Zone and <br />to provide for the safety of those who use the Downtown Activity Zone, all <br />displays, including but not limited to signs or tables, are subject to the following <br />restrictions: <br />4.1.8.1 All tables and chairs used in connection with an activity <br />authorized by a Downtown Activity Permit shall be of sufficient strength to <br />support the expected use, have non-movable legs or legs which can be <br />locked in an upright position and shall be kept clean and free from excessive <br />wear which might present a hazard to those using the table or chair. Tables <br />and chairs shall be kept painted or finished, show no signs of rust or pitting, <br />and shall have no holes except as a part of the design of the table or chair; <br />4.1.8.2 Signs in public pedestrian areas are allowed by permit only. <br />No sign may be more than nine square feet in total area on any side and <br />shall be firmly attached to a supporting structure or shall be capable of <br />supporting itself without presenting a danger to pedestrians. All signs must <br />be professionally lettered. Owners and tenants of abutting property and <br />each pushcart is allowed one sign. Signage for activities of less than 14 <br />days' duration shall be located according to the Downtown Activity Permit <br />for such event; <br />4.1.8.3 No display placed on the surface of the Downtown Activity <br />Zone shall be less than 18 inches in height nor have protruding edges on or <br />above the surface which would present a hazard to pedestrians; <br />Administrative Order - Page 22 of 29 <br />
