Permittee: Includes any person designated as the applicant in the application for <br />the downtown activity permit, and any employee, agent, representative or volunteer <br />assisting with an authorized activity. <br />Personal solicitation: Solicitation by an individual of money or goods of value <br />where that money or those goods of value would be transferred without receipt of any item <br />with an extrinsic value. <br />Principal. Includes all owners, shareholders, partners, directors, officers and <br />managers of a business. <br />Public Pedestrian Area. Any public sidewalk, alley, plaza, and park, excluding <br />public areas under the primary control of entities other than the city. It also includes public <br />streets during the time streets are closed to vehicular traffic for a city -sponsored or <br />permitted event. <br />Public Property. Sidewalks, streets, alleys, plazas and parks, including <br />improvements thereto. <br />Pushcart: A wheeled vehicle of such size and weight that it may be wheeled on <br />or moved to and from an assigned location. <br />Retail Commercial Activities: Except for non-profit fund raising organizations, <br />any commercial pursuit which has as any part of its business the sale or transfer of tangible <br />personal property. <br />Sidewalk. That portion of the street between the curb line or the lateral line of a <br />roadway and the property line of the adjacent property. <br />Sidewalk Commerce. Commerce occurring on a sidewalk outside the Downtown <br />Activity Zone, as defined in EC 4.871. <br />Single Bus Stop: The location designated by the Lane Transit District or other <br />publicly operated transportation district for passenger pickup and discharge by bus. <br />Street Entertainment: The conducting of, presenting, or participating in musical, <br />theatrical, cinematic, choreographic or athletic performances for which no admission is <br />charged, and no specific area of public property is reserved for its use. <br />Street Vendor: A person who sells or offers for sale, or distributes goods or <br />services on a public street as defined in EC 9.0500. <br />Substantially Similar Items. Products which may reasonably be understood to <br />compete for a share of the same market's demand. <br />Administrative Order - Page 5 of 29 <br />
