<br />I ~inutes of the adjourned meeting of the common council held at the hour of Ot
<br /> 7:30 o'clock P. M." December 28" 1936. Mayor Large called the meeting to order; C1
<br /> all councilmen were present. ,.,.,.;.
<br /> The minutes of December' 14, 1936 were presented and ordered filed' as th~re
<br /> were no corrections appearing.
<br /> Mr. W. E. Poole, 2477 Kincaid, asked that Alder Street between 24th and 25th
<br /> and 25th east be graded and put in shape for the winter as the street at present
<br /> is in almost impassable condition. The matter was referred to the Street Committee.
<br /> Councilman Lamb stated that the grader was being operated on the east side of the
<br /> ....1 city and would undoubtedly cover that location before long.
<br /> Councilman Harris, 'chairman of the Judiciary Committee, recommended acceptance "
<br /> I of the quitclaim deed offered to the city by Lawrence T. Harris and wife Jennie B. ~" -
<br /> Harris covering lots 9r 10, and 11, Block 2, Croner's Addition. Upon motion made an ~.....'
<br />--, ......2 seconded, the recommendation of the Judiciary Committee was duly approved.
<br /> It was the recommendation of the Judiciary Committee that upon payment of
<br /> $21.90 by E. F. Keller on assessments against lot 9, Block 2, Fairmount Addition
<br /> that the interest from August 4, 1929 be cancelled. Upon motion made and seconded
<br /> ,3 this was duly approved.
<br /> Councilman Harris asked that the refund of $2.98 being claimed by Mr. L. F.
<br /> Wood be granted as it was discovered that Mr. Wood had overpayed the city on assess-
<br /> I menta covering lot 6r block 2, John Christian's Addition~ Upon motion made, 'seconde
<br /> /4 and carried the recommendation of the Judiciary Committee was unanimously approved.
<br /> Dr. Harris reported that in accordance with the request of the council, com-
<br /> ......5 munication to the widow of Captain Thompson had been mailed.
<br /> Resolution directing the City Treasurer to cancel claim of $12.33 interest
<br /> upon the West 100 feet of lot 9, Block 1, Lizzie Luckey Addition which property is
<br />I I owned by E. S. Evenson, was presented and upon motion made, seconded and carried

<br /> WHEREAS, a claim has been made by the City of Eugene for
<br /> $1..33 which is claimed as interest against the West 100
<br /> - feet of Lot 9, Block 1, Lizzie Luckey Addition, for paving
<br /> Olive Street, and
<br /> WHEREAS, E. S. Evenson holds a receipt in full, principal
<br /> and interest, for this identi~al claim, and no claim is
<br /> made by the City for unpaid prinCipal on the lIen
<br /> Therefore
<br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Eugene
<br /> that the Treasurer be and he is hereby directed to cancel
<br />. the claim for $18.33 interest now claimed. I
<br /> The claim of F. B. Dunn, as reported by Councilman'Harris, was referred to
<br /> / 7 the Judiciary Commi ttee and Ci ty Attorney for c'onsideration.
<br /> The $330.00 offer of Mr. G. R. Blair on the east 60 feet of lot 12, Block 20,
<br /> east 50 feet of south 40 feet of Lot 11, Block 20. all in College Hill Park Additio
<br /> was rejected and a counter-offer of $600.00 extended to Mr. Blair. Upon motion
<br /> /8 made and seconded, the recommendation of the Finance Committee was approved.
<br /> The $500.00 offer of Hobert Campbell for property described as Lot 10; Block ,
<br /> Shelton's 1st Addition was refused and a counter-offer of $1000.00 extended. Upon
<br /> /9 motion made and seconded, the recommendation of the Finance Committee was approved.
<br /> Councilman Hendershott, chairman of the Finance Committee, recommended that
<br />I the $400.00 offer of Mr. J. D. Campbell for lot n, Block 7, Hollenbeck's Addition
<br /> /10 be rejected. and a coun,ter-:-offer of $500.00 be extended. Upon motion made, seconded
<br /> and carried, the recommendation of the Finance Committee was duly accepted.
<br /> The City Recorder presented a letter from Amy'D. Ziegel in which she tendered
<br /> her withdrawa~ on the offers she had previously made for Lot 9, Block 1, Hendrick's
<br /> /11 Amended Addition and Lot 3, Block 4, Hollenbeck's Addition.
<br /> In discussing the proposal of widening Willamette Street from Eleventh to
<br /> Seventeenth, Councilman Lamb, Chairman of the street Committee, reported that the
<br /> lien situation comprising that territory was in very good condition.' It was
<br />. pointed out that liens were still outstanding between 11th and 13th being that of
<br /> ~
