<br />Hearing for'objections or remonstrances on proposed vacation of post af'fice
<br />alleys was held at this time. No objections were filed. City Attorney Calkins
<br />suggested that the hearing on said vacation be postponed in order that waivers ,coul
<br />be obtained from Mr. and Mrs. Campbell Church who would be in town by Wednesday,
<br />May 12. Further the council might consider what steps should be taken to pay the
<br />assessments that are still due for the alley improvements and the right the city
<br />/ 22 will have for laying of sewer and erecti'on of poles for uti~lty services."

<br />Hearing for objections or remonstrances on proposed Oregon.Electric Franctis
<br />was had at' this time. No objections were filed. Councilman Hendershott asked
<br />that the hearing be held until the next meeting of the council in order that the
<br />proposed amendments to said franchise could be presented.

<br />An ordinanc.e declaring the solicitation of private residences a nuisance and
<br />fixing a penalty was pre~~nted. Councilman Hanns moved that it be indefinitely
<br />tabled and it was so ord~red. ' ~

<br />Ordinance and contract relative to the city dump tender was ordered executed
<br />as drafted, even though it did not conform to the provisions outlined in the minute
<br />of April 12, 1937.

<br />Resolution directing the Mayor and Recorder to execute and deliver a deed to
<br />J. W. McCracken and wife upon payment of $275.00 for the east 22i feet of Lot 3,
<br />Block 8, Teshner's Addition, was upon motion made, seconded and duly carried,
