The matter was referred to the Fire and Water- Commi tt,ee. <br /> <br /> <br />Councilman Page reported that the deer fences in Hendrick's Park have been <br />broken down and two deers escaped. . He felt that the only remedy for non-reoccunenc <br />of a similar. escapade is to make the fence deer-tight as well as dog-proof. The <br />matter, was left in the hands of the Park Board.' . <br /> <br />~ <br />~.~~ <br />'::~ <br />,,~ <br /> <br />An ordinance restricting to two hours the parking on northt~ east, south and <br />west park streets had its first reading and passed to its second and third reading <br />by title under suspension of the rule by unanimous consent of the council and was <br />placed on its final passage~ Councilmen voting aye, Lamb, Hendershott, Reid, Page, <br />Hanns, Farrington, Bond and Carlson; nay, none; absent, none~-~The ordinance was <br />37 declared passed and numbered 85l1~ <br /> <br />Mayor Elisha Large on May 11 left for a business and pleasure trip to <br />California. "hile he is away he will attend the Western Regional Meeting of the <br />United States Conference of mayors to be held at Los Angeles. On his return he <br />will attend the celebration of the Golden Gate Bridge at San Francisco. The council <br />approved an expense account not to exceed $100.00 for Mayor Large's attendance to <br />the conf erence. <br /> <br />/38 <br /> <br />/ <br /> <br />Upon motion made and seconded, the meeting was adjourned until May 24, 1937. <br />C.
