<br />The minutes of the regular meeting of the common council held at the hour
<br />v~ of 7:30 o'clock P. M., April 12, 1937, City Hall. Mayor Large called the meeting
<br />lOJ to order. All councilmen were present except Mr. Hanns.

<br />The minutes of the previous meeting were presented end as there were no
<br />2 corrections appearing, ~hey were ordered filed.
<br />
<br />Mr. Frank Bennett asked that the council request the Building Inspector's
<br />, Department to grant a permit to move the Knights of Pythias building to the south
<br />side of the premises at the corner of 11th and Olive ~treets. Leo Wray, whose
<br />property immediately adjoins the aforesaid pr~perty, protested the contemplated
<br />move at the previous meeting, claiming that the issuance of such a permit would
<br />increase his fire insurance rate. Moved by Councilman Reid and seconded by Mr.
<br />3 hendershott, the request for issuance of a permit was granted and it was so ordered.

<br />Russell D. Evans, addressing the council, asked that segregation of propert
<br />he purchased from the city located at 10th and v,ashington btreets be made, stating
<br />that he had sold a segregated part for ~750.00 and upon completion of the trans-
<br />action he would make that payment to the city on the whole thereof and that within
<br />the next thirty days he would pay the balance due the city. Upon motion made and
<br />seconded the request was granted.

<br />C. L. Kelly, manager of the Miner Building, at this time presented a
<br />petition requesting that the parking privilege in front of the Miner Building be
<br />limited to fifteen minutes during the business hours of the day. The matter was
<br />5 referred to the ~olice Committee for study.

<br />Councilman Lamb, chairman of the Judiciary Gommittee, reported that an ex-
<br />tensive study had been made on bids covering liability insurance and it was the
<br />recommendation of the Committee that all bids be rejected. The recommendation was
<br />upon motion made and seconded duly approved.

<br />Councilman Lamb advised the council that the WPA would need for purposes of
<br />storage the buildings formerly occupied by the CCC in Skinner Butte Park during the
<br />construction of the Route F project. Therefore it was voted that no action for
<br />8 vacation be taken at this time.

<br />Councilman Hendershott, chairman of the Finance Committee, recommended that
<br />the offer of J. E. Gray to pay $15.00 cash and the balance in monthly payments of
<br />4lilO.OO 'each wi th interest at the rate of 6% on property described as "Beginning 66
<br />feet south of the southwest corner of Lot 5, Block 6, uhelton's First Addition and
<br />run thence Viest 174 feet, thence bouth 24 feet, thence easterly along the line of
<br />the 0 & C. R. R. to a point due south of the place of beginning, thence north to
<br />the place of beginning" on which the City has a certificate dated March 27, 1937 in
<br />9 the sum of 1147.08 be accepted. The recommendation was unanimously approved.

<br />At the recommendation of Councilman Hendershott, chairman of the Finance
<br />Committee, the '1400.00 offer of Hobert W. Prescott for Lot 12, Block 5, Gross
<br />Addition was unanimously approved.

<br />The recommendation of Mr. Hendershott, chairman of the Finance Committee to
<br />accept the ~700.00 offer od vavid C. Baird for the west 100 feet of Lot 7; also
<br />lot 8, except the south 44~33 feet of the east 60 feet, Block 17, Gross addition

<br />Heferred to the ~'inance committee for further study was the second offer of
<br />R. F. Jepsen in the sum of '462.50 for Lot 2, Block 1, Gilmore Addition.

<br />Councilman Hendershott, chairman of the Finance Committee, recommended re-
<br />jection of the $1000 offer of Latter Day Saints Church for the North ~ of Lots 1
<br />and 2, Block 0, ~lias btewart1s ~ddition. Upon motion made and seconded rejection
<br />was sustained. The $100.00 check submitted by A. J. Burton, representing the
<br />Church, was ordered returned andlt is so authorized.
