It was pointed out that ' , due to the fact that the question was'being referred to the vote of the people at I the next general election that in the'-'meantime the city.should continue its licen- ,;g: sing program. Motion was made and seconded, after a brIef discussion" that licenses,~ be increased to 110.00 per month per machine. The ordinance was read the first ~~ - ~ time and upon mot ion that the ordinance pass to its second and third r'eadlngs by unanimous consent of the council under suspension of the rules, the same was de- feated by a negative vote of councilmen riendershott and Held. The proposed ordinance I 47 will be up for second and final reading at the meeting of June 28th. Mayor Large stated that he hadrecelved a number of complaints relative to the auto trailer situation within the city,of ~ugene and herewith referred the question to the ~ewer Committee for study and report'at the subsequent council 48 I meet ing.
