<br />H The minutes of the adjourned meeting of the Common Council held at the hour of
<br />':Ii 7:30 o'clock P. M., September 27,1937. The meeting was called to order by May~' ,-
<br /> I Large. All members of the council were present.
<br />!' The minutes of the previous meeting were presented and ordered filed as there
<br /> 2 were no corrections appearing.
<br /> The Judiciary Commrttee was asked to consider the bill presented the council
<br />f by Mr. Marvin T. Warlick, Manager of the Eugene Hospital and Clinic, for services,
<br />'t j rendered one Ernest H. Craig to the extent of $15.75. Mr. Warlick explained that
<br /> 3 this patient had come to the hospital for treatments from the city jail.
<br /> I Upon motion mad~, seconded, and duly carried, the Fire Department was granted
<br /> ~; permission to purchase 400 feet of 3/4" 4-ply booster tank hose at a cost slightly
<br /> 4 in excess of $100.00 and two salvage covers at $39.75.
<br /> Mr. Hanns, chairman of the Fire and Water Committee, asked that statements be
<br /> mailed to the following parties located in the rural districts of the, city for
<br /> whom services had been rendered by the Bugene Fire Department in answer to their
<br /> summons:

<br /> ) Upon motion made and seconded, the recommendation of the Committee was duly ap-

<br /> ) Major James H. Tierney's request for repeal of city ordinances Nos. 478 and 51
<br /> I relating to "General Police Regulations - Playing in City Parks" and "Prohibiting
<br /> the riding of bicycles or tricycles in the public parks", was referred to the
<br /> 6 Judiciary Committee for study.
<br /> I The matter of a temporary appointment to the Eugene Police force, was left in
<br /> J the hands of the Police Committee. It was pointed out that Clair Larson, traffic
<br /> officer, is seriously ill in the hospital and may not be able to report for duty
<br /> 7 for some time.

<br />~ Councilman Hendershott, chairman of the Finance Committee, recommended ac-
<br /> ceptance of the $130.00 cash offer made by Frank T. McMullen for Lot 2, Block 8,
<br /> / Hollenbeck's Addition, with the city to furnish deed and pay all back taxes, but
<br /> to not guarantee title in any way. Upon motion made and seconded, the recommenda-
<br /> 8 tion of the Committee was duly approved.
<br /> The request of John F. and Lillie B. Alford to redeem Lot 8, Block 1, ~helton I
<br /> I Addition for $842.23, with a down payment of $84.22 and the balance at the rate
<br /> of $10.00 per month for the first three months and $15.00 per month thereafter,
<br /> /g was upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, approved by the council.

<br /> - Councilman Hendershott, chairman of the Finance Committee, recommended denial
<br /> of the $200.00 offer of K. K. Folgedalen for Lot 7, Block 33, Gross Addition
<br /> rlO and extended a counter-offer of $819.14. Upon motion made and seconded, this re-
<br /> commended was accepted.
<br /> At the recommendation of the Finance Committee, the $125.00 offer of K. K.
<br /> Robinson for property described as "The South 46~2 feet of beginning at a point
<br /> 156.8 feet North of ,the Southwest corner of Lot 4, Dlock 3, Fairmount Addition,
<br /> and running thence North along the West line of said Lot to the Northwest.comer
<br /> "thereof, thence South easterly along the North line of said lot to the Northeast
<br /> corner thereof, thence South along the East line of said lot to a point due
<br /> east of the place of beginning, thence west to the place of beginning.", city to
<br /> (11 not furnish, insured title, was upon motion made and seconded, accepted by the
<br /> I council.
<br /> 112 I Request of J. W. Armstrong to make payments of $25.00 per month' on Lot 4,
<br /> Block 2, Original Addition, was upon motion made and seconded, dulya:ccepted.
<br /> / Offer of Elvin S. Turk of $350.00 for the West 44.3' of the East 80 feet of
<br /> Lot 7, Block 2, Cheshire's Second Addition, known as 483 Cheshire Street, was re-
<br /> 13 jected, and upon motion made and seconded, this action was approved.
<br />K The $375.00 offer of Everett Alford for the West 44.3' of the East 80 feet of
<br /> Lot 7, Block 2, Cheshire's Second Addition, known as 483 Cheshire Street, was ac-
<br /> cepted upon motion made and duly seconded. Mr. Alford is to pay $25.00 cash as
