<br />I Reese Wingard, attorney representing Mrs. Emma Mills, asked that assess-
<br /> ments against 1006: Taylor Street, which heretofore was declared paid in full, as can
<br /> be' substantiated by the receipts received from the office of the City TreaSlrer. The
<br /> /3 matter' was referred to the Judiciary Commi tt,ee and City Attorney for consideration.
<br /> Prank Kinney, member of the Eugene Realty Board, stated that they had,
<br /> no~ as yet received their listing on prices of city property and are anxious to g~t
<br /> to work on it. Councilman Hendershott stated that there would be a list of one
<br /> hund'red pieces turned over to the Board sometime this week. Mr. Kinney asked if the
<br /> valuations of the properties were being based on what the city had in it or as to
<br /> the. present market value. To this, Councilman Hendershott responded t'hat prices
<br /> (4 axe what the city feels the. property is actually worth. .
<br /> Mrs. H. E. Slattery, representing the G.A.R., requested special per-
<br /> mission for removal of the St. Maryis Episcopal parsonage, now located at Seventh
<br /> and eilive Streets,.to a site 68 x 5510n the south side of Eighth between Lincoln
<br /> and Lawrence Streets. She stated that the moving was' to be done' by George Lammers"
<br /> bonded house and building mover. Upon motion made and seconded, the request for
<br /> /5 special permission was unanimously granted.
<br /> Request of Marvin T. Warlick, Chairman of the Lane County Democratic
<br /> Central Committee, to suspend-a banner across willamette Street in front of their
<br /> 6 campaign headquarters, was denied by the council.
<br />1 / Petition presented by Paul Kiepe declaring that there is need for an
<br /> authority to function in Eugene because unsanitary and unsafe inhabited dwelling ac-
<br /> commodations exist and a shortage of safe or sanitary dwelling accommodations to
<br /> persons of low income at rentals they can afford, exists, was referred to the Judici ry
<br /> (1 Committee for study. -
<br /> R. L. Jonea made a request for special permission to install a two
<br /> thousand gallon fuel oil storage tank at 195 Van Buren Street for the Hancock Oil
<br /> Company. Councilman Hanns having made previous investigation, recommended that this
<br /> 8 request be granted and it was so ordered, upon motion duly made and seconded.

<br /> The $450.00 offer of, C. D. Quinn for a site 60 x 133.68' on the North
<br /> side of the alley and west side of Van Buren street between Broadway and Tenth, was
<br />.' . ; denied 'by the Finance Oommittee and a counter-offer of $500.00 extended. Upon
<br /> 9 motion made and seconded, this recommendation was duly approved.

<br /> The $625.00 offer of Clyde Yarbrough for property located at 131
<br /> Washington Street, was accepted by the F.1nance Committee and the Treasurer's Office
<br /> was instructed by the council to proceed with the preparation of the necessary
<br /> /10 papers in consummation of the sale and it was s 0 ordered.
<br /> The $600.00 offer of Mrs. Dorothy Weeks for Lot 9, Block 3, Shelton's
<br /> First Addit~on, more commonly known as 131 Washington Street, Was denied by the
<br /> /11 council and the offer of Clyde Yarbrough for said property was accepted.

<br /> The $1200.00 offer of M. Peterson for the North 1/2 of Lots 1 and 2",
<br /> Block 5, Elias Stewart's Addition, was denied by the Finance Committee and a counter
<br /> offer or $1550.00 extended. It was pointed out that in the event the counter-offer
<br /> is accepted by the prospective purchaser, that the commission is to be payable to
<br /> /12 P. Aug. Peterson.

<br /> The $1600..00 offer of W. C. Greenup (with the Oregon Settlement Associa
<br /> tion) bidding on behalf of a client for Lot 6 and the West 1/2 of Lot 7, Block 2,
<br />I" Harris Addition to the City of Eugene, was denied by the Finance Committee and a
<br /> counter'-of'fer' of $2250.00 -extended. Upon motion made and' seconded, this recommendat on
<br /> (13 was unanimously approved.

<br /> Addition, was denied by the Finance Committee. Upon motion made and seconded, this
