Principal and Interest on Liens Outstanding <br />2. Principal and Interest on Land Sale Contracts <br />3. Lien Rent <br />That the City Recordert.s Office be the agency for <br />receiving all other fees, licenses, rents, refunds, and any <br />other monies payable to the City of Eugene. <br /> <br />That the> City Treasur~r shall be the receiving <br />agency for the following: <br /> <br />1. Payment to the city of Eugene for taxes collected <br />by Lane County. <br />2. D_aily turnover from the following:: <br /> <br />Engineer'and guilding Inspector <br />Lien Department <br />Recorder's Office <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The above recommendations are made with the view of <br />further improving the services rendered the City of Eugene <br />by the various departments~ <br /> <br />C. A. Horton, Auditor, was requested to meet with the Finance Committee and they <br />were given power to place this program in effect as of April 1, 1939, and it was <br />29. so ordered. <br />I <br /> <br />The following"two curb cut applications were presented and recommendations <br />of' City Engineer Clubb sustained: Harry Veatch, 1688 Second Avenue West <br />30. (approved)'; F. L. Stetson, 2140 Potter (approved). <br /> <br />City Recorder reported that a represe~tative of the Secretary of <br />State's office had been in to see him concerning the motor vehicle ownership <br />records. The Reca'der further stated that he had never launched any criticism <br />against the State Office but did feel that the Crane Direct Mill 1 Service rendered <br />a service that was incapable of meeting the needs and, demand l:5 of the RecQ" deI" s <br />Office. It was pointed out that the Secretary of State has always furnished the <br />city with information whenever called upon and th~ir service has at all times Deen <br />31. abuve reproach. <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mayor Large named Carl Cuddeback, second in line on the list of eligibles, <br />to fill the vacancy incurred by the Ie ave of 'absE?nce of fireman Homer Middlesworth, <br />effective April 1, 1939. Upon motion made and seconded, the appointment was duly <br />32. confirmed by the council. <br />/ <br /> <br />At this time Mayor Large announced the resignation of Miss Zona Malkas- <br />ian in the RecQrder's office, effective April 1, 1939, and presented the name of <br />Miss Ann Brenner to fill the position. Upon motion m~de and seconded, the appoint- <br />ment was unanimously approved and the memoers of the council extended their very <br />33. best wishes to Miss Malka~ian. <br />/ <br /> <br />34. <br /> <br />Upon motion made and seconded, the meeting was 11erewith adjourned. <br /> <br />C.
