<br />I rdere~ filed. The me~ting was herewith called to order.

<br />Mr. A.. B. Carley addresse,d the council requesting the recommendation and
<br />approval of the counc.il in a campaign tm place house numbers on street curbings..
<br />ifter considerable discussion by the council~ Mr. Carley was granted permission to
<br />'[banvass the city on h,isown behalf and ,was not to employ the recommendation of the
<br />bouncil in sponsoring the solicitation.

<br />1 Mr. Robert Bertsch of 2223 Alder Street addressed the council asking.
<br />or an extension of time until October 1, 1939 to complete the removal of the
<br />~rees in the parking strip from the above numbered property. After a briefdiscussio
<br />by the council the request was granted and the matter continued indefinetly.
<br />
<br />Il - Counci Iman Farr ingto n, Chairman of the Finance Comrni ttee, recommended that
<br />U he offer of Nick M.. Derschon to wreck the house ,at 1706 Lawrence Street and the
<br />house at 2411 Potter Street, with a payment of l25~00 and $10.00 for each house
<br />!hespectively, be rejected. Upon motion made end seconded the recommendation was
<br />~ '
<br />approved.

<br />II . The $50.00 cash offer' of Clark C. Dick for a str ip of land 17.' x80 t
<br />~djoining his lot at. 4 Monroe Street was recommended by the Finance Committee. The
<br />IDity of Eugene to furnish a merchantable title but not any insurance covering same.
<br />Upon motion made and seconded'the recommendation of the committee was approved.

<br />II , The acceptance of a $100.00 cash offer of Julius Silva for the North 8.48
<br />~eet of Lot 9 ahd the South 8.33 feet of Lot 10, Block 24, Gross Addition, was recome _
<br />~ed by the Finance Committee. The City of Eugene is to furnish a merchantable title
<br />~ut not any insurance covering the offer. Upon motion made and seconded therecoIDIDen
<br />~ation' of the committee was approved.

<br />1 'The $120.00 cash offer of Francis G. Everson for Lots 4,5, and 6, Block 4,
<br />ountain View Park Addition was rejected by the Finance Committee and it was so order d
<br />ty the Counci 1.
<br />
<br />~ 'The acceptance of the $400.00 cash offer of W. Dion for'Lot 7, Block 11,
<br />Hollenbeck Addtion was recommended by the Finance Gommlttee on the condition that
<br />~r. Dion begin immediately to construct a residence. Upon motion made and seconded
<br />the recommendation of the Finance Committee was unaninously approved.

<br />filmour and Harold J. Gilmour for the west 160 feet of the South 20 feet of

<br />1 At this time, City Recorder, C. M. Bryan, presented the bill in the
<br />mount of $16.50 of Charles Farnham for radio service to the Police Dep:irtment. It
<br />tas p6inted out 'that Mr. Farnham had been cautioned to always obtain a requisition
<br />~jor parts and materi8.1sbu~ thi~ time t'ai led to. do so. Councilman Farringto n
<br />~uggested that this bill be paid but that the SItuation be talked over with
<br />~r. Farnham and the ordinance requiring a requisition for each jab be strictly enforc d.

<br />II Chairman Koppe of the Health Committee reported that two trailer houses
<br />located in the alley bounded by Lincoln and Charnelton between '{th and 8th Streets
<br />~ere occupied by two women and tnat the women had access to sanitaryfacilities
<br />]n adjacent homes and it was not considered an ordinance violation~
<br />
<br />I Chairman Koppe further reported that State In~pector Dillinger had
<br />'l is i ted the City Dump Grounds and awarded a very fine l' ecornrnenda t ion. However,
<br />'1'. Dillinger recommended that Mr. Christofferson use 11me around ~is hog pens..
