<br />The minutes of the regular meeting of the Common Council held at the hour
<br />of 7:30 o'clock p.m. February 12, 1940. Mayor Elisha Large presided over the
<br />meeting. Councilmen present were: Messrs: A. A.Reid, Sam C. Bond, A. C. Farring-
<br />ton, Fred Carlson, Louis Koppe, E. A. Barette and Herbert J.Cox.

<br />The minutes of the previous meeting, January 22, 1940, were presented
<br />2JVand ordered placed on file.
<br />
<br />Councilman Farrington, Chairman of the Finance Committee, presented the
<br />property offers beginning with the offer of L. J. PI ovv.man, $50.00 cash, for the
<br />West 46 feet of the east 160 feet of Lot 9, N~thews Park Addition. The Finance
<br />Comraittee recommended that the offer be accepted and upon motion made and seconded
<br />3 the recommendation was unanimously approved.

<br />The Finance Committee recommended a counter offer of $450.00, and the buyer
<br />to assume delinquent taxes on the offer of Byron D. Agerter $400.00 for Lot 7,
<br />Block 7, Huddleston's Amended Addition. T4is offer is made on condition that a
<br />loan is obtained to build a home. Upon motion made and seconded the recomDlenda-
<br />4 % tion was unanimously approved.

<br />The Finance Committee also recommended the r~jection of the offer of C. M.
<br />Hall, $800.00, $200.00 cash and the balance at $200.00 or more per year plus interes
<br />at 6% for Lots 7 and 8, Block 23, Gross Addition. Upon motiQn made and seconded
<br />5 the recommendation was unanimously approved.

<br />The offer of Mrs. Marvin Jackson, $1250.00, $100.00 down and the balance at
<br />$15.00 per month including interest at 6% f~r Lot 6, Block 5, Purkerson and Quimby
<br />Addition was presented. The Finance Committee recommended a counter offer of
<br />$250.00 down, and $15.00 per month plus interest. Motion was made and seconded
<br />6 unanimously approving the committee's recommendation.

<br />The offer of Montie Lesley, $2000.00, $500.00 "cash and the balance at
<br />$25.00 or more per month pJus interest at 6% for the East 50 feet of Lots 1 and 2,
<br />Block 8, College Hill Park was presented with a recommendation from the Finance
<br />Committeethattthe .offer be accepted. Motion was made and seconded approving the
<br />7 recommendation of the Finance Committee.

<br />The Finance Qommittee recomnended a counter offer of $550.00 on the offer
<br />of W. L. Seward, $500.00, $120.00 down, $10.00 per month plus interest at 6% for
<br />Lot 1, Block 9, Hollenbeck Addition qnd motion was made and seconded unanimously
<br />8 approving the committee's recomDlendation.

<br />The Finance COmDlittee recommended the acceptance of the offer of Melvin
<br />Short, $500.00, $100.00 down and balance at $100.00 per year pl~s interest at 6%
<br />for the West 70 feet of Lots 24 and 25, Block 1, Hendrick's Amended Addition.
<br />gV Motion was made and seconded unanimously approving the committee's recommendation.

<br />The offer of Edith Gardiner for clients, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Rogers, $1000.00
<br />no down payment and $15.00 per month for Lot 4, Block 5, Blair Street Addition,
<br />known as 1683 and 1683t West 2nd Avenue was presented. As the Finance Committee
<br />reco~nended the rejection of this offer, motion was made and seconded unanimously
<br />l~ approving the recolIDnendation of the committee.

<br />The offer of C. F. Hyde for client, E. J. Eberdt, $550.00, $100.00 cash
<br />and the balance upon receipt of deed for Lot 4, Block 4, Hollenbeck Addition was
<br />presented. As the Finance Conwittee recommended a counter offer of $650.00; $100.00
<br />returnable when the building is started~ motion was made and seconded unanimously
<br />11 approving the recomnendation of the cOmDlittee.
<br />At this time Councilman Hanns arrived.
<br />Councilman Farrington presented' the bills for the month of January, 1940,
<br />with a recommendation that warrants be drawn to pay for the same. The ayes and
<br />nays were called, councilmen voting aye: A. A. Reid, P. J. Hanns, Sam C. Bond,
<br />A. C. Farrington, Fred Carlson, Louis Koppe, E. A. Barette and Herbert J. Cox.
<br />12/ The recommendation was declared approved.
