<br />. The minutes of the regular meeting of the Common Council held on. Monday,
<br />March 11, 1940 at '7:30 o'clock p.m. Mayor Elisha Large presided over the meeting.
<br />. Councilmen present were: Messrs; A. A. Reid, P. J. Hanns, Sam C. Bond, A. C.
<br />l'-"Farrington, Fred Carlson, Louis Koppe, E. A. Barette,and H. J. Cox.

<br />The minutes of the previous meeting, February 26, were presented and
<br />2~ ordered placed on file.
<br />
<br />.. The property offers were presented by Councilman Farrington, Chairman of
<br />the Finance Corrrmittee, beginning with. the offer of W. L. Ruiter, $500.00 cash, for
<br />the South 105 feet of the East 50 feet of Lot 12, Block 1, Sladdens Addition
<br />(Northwest corner of 5th and ~~dison Streets); Intends to start building residence
<br />within sixty days. The Finance Committee recommended that the offer be accepted and
<br />motion was nmde and seconded unanimously approving the recommendation of the Finance
<br />3/ Committee.

<br />The Foster & Kleiser Company requested permission to post advertising
<br />signs at the corner of 6th and Madison Streets. The Finance Committee recommended
<br />the rejection of this request and motion was made and seconded approving the
<br />4..1 recommendation.
<br />
<br />The Finance Committee recornmended a $150.00 cash counter offer on the offer
<br />of E. V. Hamblen, $125.00 cash, for the metes and bounds tract on the south side of
<br />Clark Street and the East side of Monroe (54x160). Motion was made and seconded
<br />5./ apprQving the recorrirnendation of the Finance Committee.

<br />The Foster & Kleiser Company requested permission to post advertising signs
<br />at the corner of 6th and Almaden Streets. The Finance .Committee recommended the
<br />rejection of this request and motion was mad~ and seconded approving ,the recommenda-

<br />The offer of E. H. Peterson for client, N. C. Koch, $400.00 cash for lot
<br />59.92 feet West of the Northwest corner of Broadway and Tyler ('73x139); intends to
<br />build a $4000.00 hom% was presented. The Cquncil unanimously approved the recommend -
<br />'7./ tion of the Finance Committee to accept the offer.

<br />The Finance Committee recommended the acceptance of the offer of Ralph
<br />Walker, $560.00 cash,. for Lot '7 and the West 3 feet of Lot 6, Block 1, Chambers
<br />Addition (north side of 11th between Taylor and A~maden). Offer pending on FHA
<br />Loan. The recowmendation, upon motion made and seconded, was unanimously approved
<br />81 by the Council.

<br />The Finance Committee recommended a

<br />intends to build a home, was pre'sented to the Council. The Finance Cornmi ttee recornm d-
<br />ed a counter offer of $550.00 which was unanimously approved by the Council. The
<br />client being present at this time accepted the counter offer and the Finance Committ e
<br />recommended the approval of the counter offer. It was unanimously apprqved.

<br />Upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee, the offer of Robert K.

<br />ll~ 13th and Monroe).

<br />Upon the recommendation of the Finance Committee the offer of Mrs. Alfred
<br />Hanson was unanimously approved; $2'75.00 cash, for the West 1/2 of Lot 1, Block 1,
<br />12J Hollenbecks Addition (southeast corner of 13th and Washington).

<br />The Finance Committee recommended a counter offer of $2000.00 and a 20%
<br />pown payment on the offer of Alfred Holm, $1800.00, $200.00 cash and the balance at
<br />~20.00 per month plus interest at 6% for the east 50 feet of Lots 1 and 2, Block 8,
