School Supt. <br /> <br />Motion was made by CQuncilman Hanns, seconded by Councilman Cox that any city <br />employees belonging to any government orga~ization if called for duty would be <br />allowed to report at once and that their respective jobs would be held open for <br />them to be resumed at the expiration of the time of their call. The motion was <br />37vunanimous+y carried. <br /> <br />In accordance with a publicatio~ of a call for bids the Finance Committee <br />reported bids for the purchase of a one-half ton panel body truck one seated, for <br />the City Engineer's Departm.ent had been received from Lane Implement & Truck <br />Company ($799.75); Sinwons-Rendall Cornpany ($710.66); Silva Chevrolet Company ($716. 0) <br />an4 Sigloh-Sawyer Company ($719.70). It was the COIMlittee's recoITtinendation that the <br />award be made to Sigloh-Sawyer Company and Inotion was made and seconded unanimously I <br />38 pprQving the recommendation of the cownittee. ,,- <br /> <br />Mayor Large reported that there wa~ a vacancy on the Police force and wish d <br />to appoint Paul E. Snell for this position. Upon motion the appointment was confirm d <br />yby the council and lvIr. Snell placed on th~ payroll at $100.00 per month effective <br />3911 April 1, 1940. , <br /> <br />Nffiyor Large reported that he had received an invitation from Mrs. Hathaway <br />of the McKenzie Flying Club inviting the members of the council to attend a ~ree <br />40 banquet to be held at the Eugene Hotel on April 5th at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />. . <br />Upon motion the council adjourned. <br /> <br />C.
