<br />The minutes of the regular meeting of the Common Council held on June 10,
<br />1940 at 7:30 o'clock p.m. Mayor Large presided over the meeting. Councilmen presen
<br />I ere: A. A. Reid, Sam C. Bond, Fred C. Carlson, P. J. Hanns, Louis Koppe, E. A.

<br />N~. I. O. Stewart addressed the council asking that consideration be extende
<br />on the proposed vacation of Indiana Street, (26th Avenue East). It was pointed
<br />out by members of the council that the proposed vac~tion as advertised for hearing
<br />en July 8, would absolutely shut off entrance to 8~ residence on said street and
<br />~robably effect other adjoining property. The City Engineer explained it would
<br />hardly be worthwhileoto continue the vacation proceedings of the street adjacent
<br />~o the property of the original petitioners., Upon motion made ,and seconded the
<br />3/~roposed vacation of Indiana Street was tabled indefinitely. ,

<br />I : In the absence of Councilman Farringion, Councilman Carlson presented the 0
<br />~~operty offers begi.n~ing with the offer of ~arl L. Shirey, ~2?5.qO, $15.00 cash and
<br />~~5.00 per month fo~ 3 ~onths and then $5.00.per month p~us lnterest at 6% for the
<br />East 110 feet of the South 15 feet of Lot 1 and the East 110 feet of the North 30 '
<br />I~eet__lof Lot 4, Block 5, Cheshires Addition (just soutl?- of 108 Washington Street)
<br />I~he ~inance Committee recommended a counter offer of $55.00 cash, $10.00 per month
<br />~~lus 6% interest which recommendation was unanimously approved.

<br />l The offer of John Prohasba, $125.00, 0$25.00 cash and the balance at $2.25
<br />er month plus interest at 6% for the East 45 feet of Lot 2 and the East 45 feet of
<br />~i h~ North 30 ~eet of Lot 3, Block 5, Cheshir~s Addition (115 ,feet East of the Souta-
<br />ra~t corner of 1st Avenue and J~fferson ~treet) was pres~nted. The Finance Committee
<br />, ecommended a counter offer of $150.00, $30.00 cash and $7.50 per month plus 6%
<br />5~nterest which recommendation was unanimously approved.

<br />II, The acceptance of the offer of Leo Wickstrom, $400.00, $80.00 cash and the
<br />~a1ance at $10.00 or more per month plus interest at 6% for the North 100 feet of
<br />~ot 6, Block 6, Croner's Addition (Southeast corner of 4th and AIlnaden) was recommend d
<br />e-ry the Finance Committee and met the approval of the eouncil.

<br />II,' The/Offer of V. E.Durbin, $100.00, $10.00 cash and $10.00 by July 15th and
<br />Fhe balance at $5.00 per month plus interest at 6% for a lot 49 by 87 which is 130
<br />feet North of the Northeast corner of 8th Avenue and Taylor Street v~s presented.
<br />I~t was the recommendation of the Finance Committee that a counter offer of $150.00,
<br />~30.00 dovm and $10.00 per month plus 6% interest be extended for Mr. Durbin's
<br />~[II onsideration, which recommendation of the Finance Committee was unanimously approved
<br />
<br />The Finance Committee recommended a counter offer of $200.00 cash, or $250.00
<br />of te'rms are desired on the offer of Thomas J. Casey, $100.00 cash, for the North
<br />80 feet of Lot 8, Block 4, Purkerson andQ,uimby Addition (80 feet North of the North
<br />:rast corner of 7th Avenue and Tyler Street). 0 The recommendation was unanimously

<br />The offer of J. H. Gruber, $450.00 cash, for Lot 7, Block 7; Huddlestons .
<br />ended Addition (66-2/3 feet East of the Northeast corner of 12th Avenue and Monroe
<br />ttreet); intends to build a home, was presented. The Finance Committee recommended
<br />~ counter offer of $450.00 plus ta~s which are $94.63 making 'a total of $544.63.'
<br />9r~~he recommendation was unanimously approved. .

<br />The acceptance of the offer of Ramey Hugh for client, Paul B. Hoven, $475.00,
<br />'95.00 cash and the balance on or before 120'days ($380.00) for the East 50 feet
<br />pf Lots 7 and 8, Block 2, College Hill Park Addition (100 feet East of the Southeast
<br />~orner of 19th Avenue and Lincoln Street) subject to FHA loan--intends to build a
<br />home; was recommended by the Finance Committee which recommendation was approved by
<br />10 v1the council. .'

<br />II' A counter offer of $525.00 was recommended on the offer of M~rs. Cecile
<br />~tewart, $300.00, $50.00 cash and the balance at $10.00 or more per month plus
<br />interest at 6%, for Lots 18, 19, and 20, Block 25, City Ovtlook Addition (109.4 feet
<br />_/~outh of the Southeast corner of 25th and Potter Streets). The recommendation was
<br />II hnanimously approved.

<br />II The Finance Committee recommended a counter offer of $200.00 cash plus
<br />monthly payments of $17.00 at 6% int~rest on the offer of Mrs. William Kissinger,
<br />~lOOO.OO, $200.00 cash and the balan?e monthly at 6% interest for'Lot'4, Block 5,
<br />~lair Street Addition (known as 1683 and l683t West 2nd Avenue. The recommendation
<br />l2~r:;as unanimously approved. '
