He merely wished to ~ate he had been told <br />that a request would be presented asking the city to set aside certain property <br />for Playground use but the request had not come to him yet. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />54 <br /> <br />Councilman Bond asked City Attorney Calkins what had been done by the <br />Planning Commission with a req,uest for a hearing concerning the reclassification <br />of a tract of land on West 7th Street in the Gordon Addition. City Attorney Calkin <br />replied that this had come to the Planning Commission and had been turned down <br />cold by them. Councilman Bond stated he thought a hearing should be held on this <br />and after some discussion by the council, a motion was made by Councilman Bond, <br />seconded by Councilman Stewart, that the Planning Commission hold a hearing re- <br />garding this matter. The ayes and nays were called, councilmen voting aye: <br />Bond, Stewart, Brownson, and Pennington; nay: Farrington, Koppe, md Hawn. Council, <br />man Stewart was out of the room. The motion was declared carried. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />50\ <br /> <br />Mayor Large reported he had received a long letter in regard to renewing <br />the "curfew". He said it seemed to him that it would be worthwhile to try this <br />out and after some discussion, motion was TIlade by Coupcilman Bond, seconded <br />by Councilman Hawn, that the Juvenile Officer be instructed to start work on the <br />curfew enforcement. The motion was carried and the Mayor asked Councilman Bond <br />to contact the Eugene Fruit Growers Association in regard to sounding the whistle <br />and Councilman Bond said he would be glad to do that.
