All councilmen were present. <br /> <br />"."'", <br />"- <br />The minutes of the previous rneeting were read and approved and the meeting <br />2 herewith called to order by Mayor Large. <br /> <br />Mayor Large asked Councilman Koppe if he had any report to make on the neW <br />contract for the old airport. Mr. Koppe stated there was not much to report as <br />far as the contract was concerned as he had not been able to contact Joe Harrell .1 <br />further regarding the matter. He stated that Mr. Harrell was building a henger . <br />just outside of the boundary of the airport. He said he did not quite understand <br />what Mr. Harrell intended to do with this hanger as there was a clause in his . <br />contract with the City that "No plane using the landing: field shall be permitted <br />to leave the same except by the way of the air. Excepting as the same shall be <br />removed for shipment or some similiar purpose." A motion was made by Koppe and <br />seconded by Bond that the City Attorney notify Mr. Harrell that it would be <br />3 impossible for him to use this hanger owing to this clause in the. contract. <br /> <br />Councilman Koppe reported regarding the claim of $36.90 from Arnold Suiker <br />for damages to a Plymouth Automobile and stated that after further investigation <br />of the Judiciary Committee that this bill should be allowed.Gn motion by Koppe <br />4 and seconded by Bond this was. carried. <br /> <br />The offer of N. C. Chris'tenson of $400.00, $80.00 cash and the balance at <br />$7.50 per month plus interest at 6% for the west 60 feet of Lot 2 ~nd the west <br />60 feet of the north 35 feet of Lot 3, Block 5, Cheshire's Addition was accepted <br />providing he pays up the balance on current contract amounting .to six monthly <br />payments and pays initial amount of $80.00 on this purchase, all by November 24, <br />5 1941. <br /> <br />The offer of Clyde McDougell of $400.00, $80.00 cash and the balance at <br />$40.00 each six months plus interest at 6% for Lot 50 x 100 (50 feet west of the <br />southwest' corner of Broadway and Taylor Street) was accepted by the Finance <br />6 Committee and the Council. .1 <br /> <br />The offer of W. D. Weber of $520.00 cash for Lot 2, Block 2, Gilmore <br />7 Addition WbS accepted by the :F'inance Commi ttee and the Council. <br /> <br />The offer of J. F. Cramer ~or School_District #4, ~1500.00, $250.00 cash and <br />the balance payable on or before June 30, 1942 plus interest at 6% for Lots 0., 8 <br />and 9, Block 9, Driverton Addition was accepted by the Finance COIl1..mittee anQ. the <br />8 Council.. <br /> <br />The offer of Jack T. Rom of $250.00 cash for Lots 11 and 12, Block 1, Mountain <br />View Park Addition was held for the appraisal price, by the Finance Committee and <br />9 the Council. <br /> <br />A counter offer of $600.00 was recommended by the Finance Cornmittee on the <br />offer of Theodore D. Brown of $400.00, $80.00 cash and the balance at $10.00 <br />per month plus interest at 6% for Lot 14, Block 22, Gross Addition and the <br />10 recommendation was adopted by the council. <br /> <br />A request of James C. Peebles for refund of $75.00 since construction had <br />started on Lot 15, Block 4, Fairmount Addition was granted by the Finance <br />Commi ttee and the Council. Said refund to be included in the November bills <br />11 and payable in December, 1941. <br /> <br />The request of Rev. Edwin Johnson for United Lutheran Church for price of I <br />12 Lots 8 and 9, Block 7, Driverton Addition was given as $1350.00. .. <br /> <br />The bills for the month of October, 1941 were presented to the Council and <br />13 on roll call all councilmen voted aye.
