Mr. Flint of the Pioneer Auction Company addressed the council and <br />expiained his reason for asking that changes be made. He stated he had been in <br />the city about seven years and had beenpaying a yearly fee of $60.00 to carryon <br />his Diliace of business but under the old ordinance he was not allOWed to hold sales <br />of h~usehold goods in various places inside the city limits. He said an auctionQ <br />eer by paying $10.00 a quarter could be allowed to go any place in the city and l~C' ~I' <br />hold these auction sales. It was explained to Mr. Flint that this new ordinance <br />would come up for consideration at the next council meeting. <br /> <br />_I <br /> <br />y~ <br />~,- ~~.. <br />........ <br />~ <br /> <br />A registered letter from the Lane County Owned Lands Department regsrdin <br />lots as follows: Lots 3 to 10 inclusive except strip for roadway Block I, Victori <br />Heights, Eugene: Lots 11 to 17 inclusive, West 30 feet of Lots 18 and all of Lot <br />19 except strip for street, Block 1, Victoria Heights, Eugene: 1/10 feet off I <br />West of Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block 3, Kincaid Park, Eugene: Part of Lot 13,Block 3, <br />Victoria Heights, Eugene:, Lots 1 to 10 inclusive and Lot 13, Block 3, Repiliat <br />of Victoria Heights, Eugene. This bid from C. A. Horton was opened <br />and read at this time. His bid for this work to be completed each month for <br />the six months period was $240.00. On motion by Bsrette and seconded .by Farrington <br />this bid was accepted. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />31 <br /> <br />Mayor Large stated that Mr. Silva of the Silva Chevrolet Compfiny had <br />requested that they be allowed to construct a telephone line from the office on <br />the North side of 11th street to the office of the used car lot on the South <br />s-ide of 11th street. The Mayor explained that he should have brought this matter <br />up at the last council meeting but he had over-looked it and in the meantime he <br />had taken it up with some of the council and he had allowed .Mr. Silva to install <br />this telephone line under the direction of the city electrical inspector. On <br />motion made and seconded the action of the Mayor was confirlood by the Council. <br /> <br />32 <br /> <br />, <br />A bill from the Day and Nite Gargge of an estimate for repairs to a car <br />belonging to Jack A. Rickey in the amount of $50.00 was presented. This car had <br />been damaged on the street by a fallen tree during the silver thaw.
