He stated that Councllman Bond had been servlng for twelve years Iii and tha t he had not missed a single Council meeting in that time and that was a ,~ r hard record to beat. He stated it had been a pleasure to work with Mr. Bond; that Ii he had supported the administration in its debt retirement program and he had always r endeavored to be economical in the Police Department on which he Vias serving. He (.'1 -- Ii stated that he and the Council members had a token of remembrance for Mr. Bond Q Ii and that he would present it to him at this time. Councilman Bond stated that he .,' II wished to thank the Mayor for his kind words and the Council for their remembrance :'~:,: r to him and that he would always cherish the present. He said he hardly knew what - I to say but tha tit was with deep regret he left the Council and tha t the members II of the Council and tte,City employees had always cooperated with him in every way ! and that he felt by being on the Council he had haC an opportunity to work with 15 t the best men of the City and that he wished to thank the Council and all of-the l: Ci ty employees for their support while he had been a Councilman. He said Mr. Davis, f; his successor, was present and he wished to introduce him at this time. Mr. Davis Iii said he realized the respoflsibili ty of his position and his only hope was that he :. could carryon where Mr. Bond had left off. Councilman Farrington said he felt that i the Mayor had exp~eased the feelings of all of the Council in his remarks concerning : Mr. Bond and it had been a pleasure to \lVork with 1v1I'. Bond and he said Mr: Bond was ; Dever in a hurry for cction and could not be rushed and he considered this a very :1 good point. Both Councilman Stewart and Councilman Barette said they wished to Ii concur in these statements. ii ij Mayor Large said he wished all the Council a happy new year and on motion the V meeting adj ourned.
