LeVan, Street Superintendent, to be effective as~
of March 31, 1943 was read at this time. Mr. LeVan explained in this letter
that had he stayed until July 9th, he would have been on the City payroll for
thirty years. Councilman Hawn stated that rather than just accept the resignation
with regrets, he thought some other arrangement should be made. He thought
that perhaps Mr. LeVan should be allowee an extra months salary, as after all
Mr. LeVan had put in the best years of his life for the City and he felt some
recognition should be shown. Perhaps a month's salary was not just the thing,
but he thought the matter should have some consideration. A motion was made by
Brownson and seconded by Davis that this matter be conSidered and a report made
back at the next Council meeting. The motion was carried.

On motion the meeting adjourned.

John Fields
Recorder Pro Tem

----

...olllll
