Mr. Barette explained the park was full of weeds <br /> and brush and Mr. ~mith had said that he was ~illing to clean up the park,. with <br /> 18 tne understanding that he was to have the exclusive use of the park. as he wished <br /> to pasture his cow there. The motion was mad~ by Farrington and secondeddby <br /> I Barrette that Mr. Smith.be given the exclusive use of the ,park with the under- <br /> 'I standihg that he keep it up. This provision ~o be good only as long as the <br /> City wishes to grant it. <br /> . . <br /> Sewer Committee~ no report. <br /> 19 Councilman ,Hawn reporting for the Police Committee recommended a <br /> transfer of class B Beer license for Snappy Service at 86Q Olive street from <br /> Harry Learon to Kenneth L. ,Hulse and Kenneth E. McKay. On motion this request <br /> i ~as granted. '~I <br /> 21 The following departmental reports were read and ordered placed on file; <br /> Police Department, Eugene Water Board, Police Matron and Engineer Department. <br /> ! . <br /> , A letter from the Board of Appeals was read regarding constructing a <br /> 22 : burner for planer shavings, just G~nside the City limits. The planing mill <br /> is located just outsdie the City limits, owned by G. E. Owen Lumber Company <br /> This letter was received by the Board of Appeals too late to make a report. <br /> to the Council. The matter was referred back to the Board of Appeals to <br /> i report to the next Council meeting. <br /> , <br /> , An ordinance levying' an assessment of $115.68 for the south side of <br /> I I <br /> , <br /> , west Broadway and east side of Polk Street for the north 100 feet of lot 1, <br /> ! in block 2, of Lill's AdditiDn, was read the first. time and passed to the <br /> 23 : second and third readings b1 unanimous consent of the Council by title under <br /> I suspensimn of the rules and was placed for final passage.
