<br /> t held on October 9th, six petitions carrying about 250 signatues had been pre-
<br /> I sented to the Council requesting the annexation and that the City Attorney
<br /> ;1 had been instructed to bring in an ordinance ordering a special elevtion.
<br /> II Since the last meeting a petition against the annexation of centain parts of
<br />I 28 II the district had been presented carrying 109 names; the petiton stating

<br /> I! after the war they wished to form a Fire and Water District of their own. A

<br /> ,I petition signed by the industrial firms on west 6th and west 7th objecting to
<br /> I the annexation of that part of tee district was read at this time. This was
<br /> i signed by 25 firms. Also a letter from the Arkley Lumber Company objecting
<br /> to the annexation was read. An Ordinance which had been prepared by the City
<br /> 'I Attorney providing for a special election for the annexation of the district
<br /> I had its first reading in detail at this time. Attorney Dave Evans addressed
<br /> I the Council at this time and sta-ted that he Vias representing the property owners
<br /> r which had presented the petition against the annexation, bearing 109 signatures~
