<br /> I garbage collection. She explained that the parties renting the upstairs rooms
<br /> ,': did veJY little cooking, and the renters of the basement rooms were restaurant
<br /> ji peo~le and seldom did any cooking. Sparky's garbage had charged at the rate
<br /> 30 I: of 1.00 per month for August and September, and she wanted something done by
<br /> : the Council. Councilman Crumbaker stated he thought in many incidences the
<br /> I: garbage company's were making additional charges over the 65 cents approved by
<br /> , the Council. It appeared to the Council that since she did not rent roons up
<br /> ~i and down stairs that he house would come under the apartment class and it was
<br /> I: the recommendation of the Council that Mrs. Sutton would have to negotiate with
<br /> b the garbage company regarding prices.
<br /> I: A request from the Foster-Kleiser Company for a permit to erect 3 bill-
<br /> ~' boards was referred to the Council from the City Engineer. fhere were some
<br /> 31 I: discussions from the Council regarding the location and distance from the street
<br /> t and the billboards were permissable to be erected. Councilman Crumbaker and
<br /> L Farrington stated that they felt that signssshould have a set-back at least
<br /> I: 10 feet from the lot line. After some discussion a motion was made, seconded

<br /> i\ and carried that the request be held over and the matter referred to the Street
<br /> r Department and report back at the next meeting.

<br /> ,I At this time a letter from C. M. McCoy asking for re-instatement into

<br /> i the fire Department was read. McCoy had resigned from the department on June
<br /> I' 2, 1942 on account of poor health and was asking that he might be allowed to
<br /> !' return at this time. It was pointed out that Civil Service rules would not
<br /> ti
<br /> 32 I,' allow his permanent reinstatement and the Council could only put him on for
<br /> ';,
<br /> \, temporary service. Councilman Stewart said.that under these conditions he

<br /> 1! At this time the bids for gasoline for the year 1945 were opened. Bids
<br /> I' were received from the Gilmore Oil Co, General Petroleum Corp and Union Oil Co.
