<br />The minutes of the regular meeting of the Common Council, held January 8th ;:,:)
<br />at 7 :30 P..\'J. The ,meeting was called toorder by Mayor Large. This being the first ",iP
<br />meeting of the Coun,cil for the new year, was the time f,or the Mayor Elect and the~:::
<br />new Oouncilmen to assume their official duties. Mayor Large stated that it had .,.""
<br />b~en arranged that the old Council should continue until Committee reports were ::i:,
<br />m~de. Members of the Old Council present were Farri~gton, Koppe, Barette, Stewart,
<br />H?wn, Davis, and Bail~y, absent Crumbaker. ' "

<br />Mayor Elect Earl McNutt and the new Council members Hurley and Allen were
<br />PFesent, absent Johnson. The Mayor and three new councilmen had taken. their oaths
<br />of office previously to the meeting.

<br />The Recorder reported that the last 2 or 3 days several parties had requested
<br />that they be allowed to make offers on a lot and the lot be held for them to secur~
<br />priority. It was suggested by Councilman Farrington that t~s should be referred
<br />to the new Finance Committee but it seemed to be the sense of~he old Council that
<br />this was not a good practise to follow.
