The fir~requested <br />24 i that the Council grant permission for the removal of the trees in the parking on <br />this property at 1291 Willamette and the other request was that the Council at <br />this time grant a permit for the installation of under-ground gasoline tanks at <br />a future date. These requests were referred to the Street Committee. <br /> <br />~fL <br />, <br /> <br />I <br />26'[ <br />I <br />i <br />i <br /> <br />.1 <br /> <br />27 I <br /> <br />28 : <br /> <br />29 <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />At this time the Recorder stated that an Ordinance proposing to vacate <br />streets and alleys for the School Board and University of Oregon, south of 19th <br />had its first reading on December 11th and was held over at the meeting of <br />December 29th. A motion was made by Koppe and seconded by ,Hawn and carried that <br />this ordinance again be held over. <br /> <br />An ordinance to amend Section 4 of Ordinance 8514 granting the Oregon <br />Electric Railway Company the right to use Electric or Electric deisel power on <br />the streets in Eugene had its 1st reading and was laid over. <br /> <br />The following resolution was read to the Council and on motion made, <br />seconded and carried was adopted. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Eugene that there is hereby <br />transmitted to the Plannigg Commission of the City or Eggene a proposal to <br />establish a blanket-single family resident zone on all of the territory annexed <br />~bithe City of Eugene which lies south of 7th avenue West; and establishing and <br />zoning all of the area north of 7th Avenue West in the annexed territory as light <br />industrial. . <br />And directing the Planning Commission to adopt a tentative report; and to <br />hold a hearing there on in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of <br />Eugene, on Tuesday, the 16th day of January 1945 at 7:30 o'clock P.M. after <br />giving ,due notice by publication once in the Eugene Register Guard, and they <br />shall thereafter make a final report and transmit the same to the council with <br />their recommendation. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The following resolution was read to the Council and on motion made, <br />seconded and carried was adopted. <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of , the City of Eugene that there is hereby <br />transmitted to the Planning Commission of the City of Eugene a proposal to chang1 <br />or modify all of the area north of 13th avenue west in ,the City of Eugene, per- <br />mitting the erection of duplex houses within that area, and that in the erection <br />of duplex houses that they are to be limited to sixty per cent of the area of the <br />lot. <br />And directing the Planning Commission to adopt a tentative report:; and to <br />hold a hearing thereon in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of the City of <br />Eugene, on Tuesday, January 16, 1945 at 7:30 o'clock P.M. after giving due notice <br />by publication once in the Eugene Register Guard, and they shall thereafter make I <br />a final report and transmit the same to the Council with their reco~endation. I <br /> <br />It had been reported earlier in the meeting that Councilman Crumbaker <br />was absent on account of the death of his Mother and a motion was made by Hawn.: c.', <br />and seconded by Koppe that the Recorder be instructed to write a letter of <br />condolence to Mr. Crumbaker expressing the sympathy of the Council. <br /> <br />On motion the Council adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />John Fields <br />Recorder pro tem <br /> <br />I <br />
