Robertson, et al., protesting banning of <br />chickens within the City limits, was submitted and read. <br /> <br />Upon motion the matter was referred to the City Manager for investigation and <br />report back to the Common Council. <br /> <br />ORDINANCES <br /> <br />38 Council Bill No. 55 -- Re: Standard Fire Prevention Ordinance, <br />introduced and read the first time December 10, 1945, was brought on for con- <br />sideration and read the second time. <br /> <br />It was moved by Hawn, seconded by Hurley that Council Bill No. 55 be amended <br />by striking paragraphs and/or sections pertaining to oil heating. Motion <br />carried. <br /> <br />39 <br /> <br />It was moved by Hawn, seconded by Hurley that Council Bill No. 55 be further <br />amended by changing all provisions for appointment of inspection personnel to <br />conform to the Eugene City Charter. Motion carried. <br /> <br />It was moved by Koppe, seconded by Hawn that the ordinance as amended be con- <br />sidered read the third time and placed on its final passage. All Councilmen <br />present voting AYE, the Ordinance was declared passed and numbered 8874. <br /> <br />Council Bill No. 70 -- Re: Improvement of the alley between 8th <br />Avenue West and West Broadway from Madison to Monroe by paving, was submitted <br />and read the first time. <br /> <br />It was moved by Koppe, seconded by Hawn, that the rules be suspended by <br />unanimous consent and the ordinance placed on its second reading. Motion carried. <br /> <br />It was further moved by Koppe, seconded by Hawn that the Ordinance be given third <br />reading, and placed on final passage.
